Hi Ladies I wondered if u could help?anybody been in this situation?
This is my 2nd pregnancy,I have quite an irregular cycle.when I did the clear blue pregnacy test it came up 2-3 weeks so made me 4-5 weeks.i am now ment to be 8weeks +2.
I've been experiencing some dark brown stringy discharge only when I wipe.i took myself up to a+e they checked me over and said cervix was closed etc and bloods are good
This was 2 days ago, then this morning I had a scan at the epu for a scan.
They couldn't see anything with ultrasound on my tummy so did an internal.
They could only see a sac and that was it?they have asked me to go back next week for a re-scan!they have just said to me that the pregnancy had either stopped developing or ur dates are wrong!
I'm so upset!is there any hope?i remember with my previous pregnancy when I had an early scan I saw the baby and yolk sac etc quite early on!
I don't think I am goin to be able to sleep all week with worry!
Xxxx

I got my dates wrong. I was scanned at what I thought was 12 weeks, turns out I was 8+1. All she said she could see was a sack and a heartbeat. When the words "I cant see any baby here" left her mouth my heart sank.

I'm now housing a 13+5 wriggler.

Hopefully you'll get a similar result x

I had a miscarriage at 7+2 with my third pregnancy. The lady at the scan said that she could see a sac but no baby and to come back in a week. I knew that there should of been a baby, my dh was hopeful that my dates were wrong but I knew my dates. I fully miscarried 2 days later. Am very sorry op, hopefully you will be in a similar position to miss slack.

Sorry to hear this. Of course there is hope but try not to set yourself up for a fall.
With my first pregnancy we went for our 12 week scan and they couldn't see a heartbeat and to wait a week as there was a chance I'd got my dates wrong. I knew I was right with my dates and this was confirmed the following week. I was booked in for an "evacuation" soon after, which was fine and I was treated very well.

The important thing I told myself and would recommend if it turns out similar for you is that it happened for a reason and time will pass and you'll have a little friend with you soon. It's ok and probably important to let yourself feel sad for a time though.
Good luck. Xxx

If you're not 100% sure on dates there is always a chance! If there's no sign of growth in a week then you'll know it's over, but until then you're still in the game.

Those conception indicators are often way off, for what it's worth. If you produced a lot of bHCG when you were only 3-4 weeks it could easily say you were further on.

Good luck!

If you had a positive pregnancy test 3-4 weeks ago and there is only a sac on the scan I'm very sorry, but that sounds like bad news. There should be a foetal pole visible at 5 weeks pregnant and a heartbeat between 6-7 weeks, at 8 weeks there should be a recognisable baby with a HB and visible arms and legs. Unless it's possible that you only conceived 2 weeks ago and are 4-5 weeks pregnant now then the pregnancy is not developing.
It's NHS policy never to say it's ended on the basis of one scan. I'm sure there are lots of times when dates are vague and a week later there is a foetus there, but there are also a lot of women who are sure of their dates, the pregnancy is weeks behind and they have to suffer a week of limbo. It sucks, I'm sorry you are having to go through it.
There is a lot of support available on the MC board if needed.

I thought if a clear blue said 2-3 weeks it meant 2-3 weeks (I had the same when I did mine and was definitely at 2-3 weeks!) so a bit confused about your 4-5?

I didn't get a heart beat at 7 weeks and it's not guaranteed at all that early on that they can see anything much at all. 8 weeks+ is a better bet. I got told there had been no change from 6 to 7 weeks and to expect to miscarry. Going for 20 week scan tomorrow and sporting quite a bump so the sonographer was spectacularly wrong. It does happen and quite frequently!

You never know, particularly if your dates are out and your bloods were good. Bleeding and sporting in early pregnancy is very common.

If the worst does come to the worst you may mc naturally over the next few days. Hope all goes well for you.

Spotting not sporting doh

bakingtins · 16/01/2014 17:28

it means 2-3 weeks post ovulation which is the same as 4-5 weeks pregnant (counted from LMP and assuming around a 28 day cycle)

Be kind to yourself this week - I know from experience how agonising the wait is. Stay away from google, and try and distract yourself as much as possible. Get immersed in a good book or something. All the best Thanks

livingzuid · 17/01/2014 06:46

Ah OK well in that case you could be a week behind where you think you are and this early on it makes a massive difference.

I know how hard that was is. Do nice things for yourself :)

livingzuid · 17/01/2014 06:47

Wait not was stupid phone

DoctorDonnaNoble · 17/01/2014 06:56

Happened to me in December. Sac continued to grow, baby didn't. The two scans are important because sometimes miracles DO happen. My policy was hope for the best: expect the worst.
I hope there's a better ending for you!
