Hello everyone

I have recently found out I am pregnant and am currently 7wks last week I was admitted to hospital with dehydration, when I was discharged the consultant gave me cyclizine hydrochloride to take home and advised me to take them 3 times a day, so far they have been fantastic I have only been sick twice in the last three days before hand my sickness was constant morning/afternoon and evening and becoming unbearable. I felt these tablets were the answer to my prayers until today when I read on the NHS website that these tablets should not be taken whilst pregnant I am now extremely worried about taking them!!!
Can anyone help please??? Xx

Hi OP come to the Hyperemsis thread where we all discuss our medication on a regular basis! Lots of experts there who can help you - I am on a different drug but am sure someone will be along soon to reassure you. Cyclizine is very common from what I have read. Or PM meerka if she doesn't pop in soon to advise you.

Cyclizine is fine for pregnancy - my two cyclizine babies are running around upstairs presumably safe, whilst I type.

The nhs are full of shite and it's important to remember that. Smile

3 cyclizine babies in this house!

The thing is, nothing is officially tested on pregnant women because it's unethical to run trials on pregnant women, but cyclizine has been used for decades without apparent ill effects.

And - congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope you feel better soon Thanks
