Has anyone had high blood pressure and protein in wee, and not developed pre-eclampsia?

Am 31 weeks, bp has been fine up until two weeks ago. Now it is high - well, 140/150 over 90/94. They put me on bp meds yesterday, the bp hasn't gone down yet.

I have a score of 3 of protein in urine.

However, I have no other signs, and blood tests are clear. I think they feel pre-eclam is inevitable but its a question of when.

Has anyone had this situation and gone on to either not develop it, or has held off 'getting it' for a good few weeks? I am dreading it coming on full blown any time, and am looking to cling onto hope that I may yet get to 34/35 weeks, if that makes sense?

Thanks for any advice!

At my 38w apt last week my bp went up to 140/90 with +1 protein and I was sent for monitoring. Everything fine but next day bp still slightly high. This week back down to 125/75 and everything fine :)

I had high BP on and off from about 32 weeks with DS1 and kept having to go to hospital for monitoring. Occasionally there was protein in my wee aswell.

Didn't develop pre-eclampsia Smile

Me. But not this pregnancy.

I always have something in my bloomin wee when i'm expecting! One week it's its sugar, next protein, whatever. Gets investigated, cleares up, then comes back again. Now i'm 39+2 the MW has given up trying to treat it/work out why Grin

In my last preg. my BP raised towards the end, coupled with a bit of protein in wee. No other effects at all. Normal birth etc.

Hi OP,

I am in a v similar position to you similar BP readings, also now medicated, and same protein levels, but no problem with bloods so far but the hospital where I'm being treated (King's in London) has actually already diagnosed pre-eclampsia on that basis. I'm being monitored twice weekly and hoping to get to 40 weeks without any worsening of symptoms (am currently 37+5). Plan is then to induce. I have heard that sudden onset pre-eclampsia is worse than the kind that's picked up relatively early and then closely monitored, but it is still all very worrying all the same! Hope all stays stable for you from here.

Hi everyone, thanks so much for getting back to me, its very reassuring!
Yes they seem to have diagnosed 'pre' pre eclampsia and it feels like they have a finger in the dam, so to speak! Will it develop full blown in the next week, month? Who knows! First things first, get to 34 weeks, see how we get on.
I am feeling confident that I can eke a few more weeks out, and hope that isn't famous last words!! x
