So I'm trying to get everything together for baby's arrival. Ive still got a few more weeks to.go yet but I feel like I'm missing something massive. We have bought a pram and car seat, Moses basket, play gym, bouncy chair, bumbo seat, which I think will be a waste of money but wanted to try it out anyway, Moses mattress, 3 blankets, some Grobags both 1 tog and 2.5 tog, vests, sleepsuits, some nappies, babywipes, cotton wool, lotions etc, one baby towel, some teddies and little crinkly play toys and a changing mat and nappy bag with travel change mat and a sling.Friends have knitted some cardigans for us and we will get the high chair at a later date, I plan to wash baby in kitchen sink to start with so I am not needing a baby bath. We also have sheets for the Moses basket and the cot is being made. Is there anything I am missing? Baby is due at the end of february so what will it wear when I take it out? Aside from bibs and muslin squares Abd scratch mits are there other clothing/fabric type bits I'm missing? What lotions and potions should I have? Ie stuff to clean umbilical stump and is it necessary?

Firstly congratulations!
Little hats? Pramsuit for if it's really cold?
Think cotton wool and water is fine for stump cleaning.
You seem pretty prepared to be honest!

How lovely that your friends have knitted some cardigans, I love new-borns in knitwear!

I've also got tube of metanium, bottle of infacol, bottles , bottle brush, steriliser, breast pump, breast pads, breast milk bags, emergency dummy, and will start filling the freezer with meals for me dh and dd shortly. You may well not feel all that is needed though...I had an early baby last time and had to pump milk while getting feeding going.

if you are breastfeeding then lansinoh cream is good if you get cracked nipples. Sudocrem for bottoms. Calpol for use at injections. baby nail clippers/scissors or you can nibble them off.

baby toileteries? have you washed the clothes in non bio senstive washing powder (and do you have some?)
bookmarking to help me..

Saline drops, infacol, sudocrem, baby thermometer (thinking of the things we needed to rush out and get). I worried loads about missing things with my first, then i realised that shops stay open after you have a baby and you really can get hold of most things very easily so dont worry too much :)

Also my bumbo has been very well used but from about4 months plus. Its great for weaning when they still seem to small for a highchair so i think it was a good buy

Raincover for carseat,

Items to bottle feed just in case - my DH had to go out at 12 o'clock at night to get me the kit as I was so stressed my DS wouldnt feed.

Snowsuit as its likely to be cold in Feb :)

Maternity pads (best to use two at a time long ways so no leaking up the front or back sorry TMI)

Have fun :)

What about one of these to sit baby on whilst in kitchen sink?

here

I still use mine now, in the baby bath, stops baby slipping, really worth it I think.

I know this isn't a necessity, but these knit baby booties and hats are soooo cute! www.etsy.com/shop/Bibsnbootiesboutique
