Bump seems to have stopped growing. Panicking!

Up until recently, my bump was measuring exactly right for dates. I was measured by midwife at 31 weeks and only measured 30cm. I know that's still within the normal range but did think it odd. My weight stopped increasing at that point ( I'm finding it harder to eat as much these days) and I started to worry about size of bump. Measured myself this morning, thinking it would put my mind at ease, and I haven't gone up any. I'm now 34+3 and still measuring 30. I know I've measured correctly as I'm pretty slim and it's obvious what's bump and what's me. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow at GP but very worried. Has this happened to anyone else?

Don't worry unnecessarily at this point, and don't put any faith in your own measurements, the midwife will do it properly. It isn't your 'bump' they ere measuring, it's the size of your uterus, which you won't be able to determine with any great accuracy!

Just as an example, there is a girl in my office who is 2 weeks behind me, you can't tell she is pregnant and I'm getting the sympathetic 'ahhh you look uncomfortable, how long have you got to go?' Comments. We are both measuring bang on for dates (26 and 28 weeks)

Do not panic.

I was measured by midwives throughout my pregnancy and I measured two weeks ahead, two weeks behind and various permutations in the middle with no logical sequence.

If the baby's changed position or is starting to drop then your bump will change shape.

If you aren't eating much then thus will mean you aren't putting on much weight as your baby will still be taking the calories it needs and leaving fewer for you.

Speak to the midwife tomorrow. I'm sure it will all be ok.

Thanks greentshirt, I'm pretty sure it is my uterus I'm measuring though. My bump goes right up to meet my breasts but the bit I'm taking as my uterus stops about 2 inches below. Still feeling regular movement though. Could it be that I've lost weight over the last few weeks while baby has kept growing? They've kind of cancelled each other out if you see what I mean?
