growth scan results

hi, I have a growth scan coming up and was wondering if the sonographer told you at the time of the scan the size etc. only my dr can't see je for a week following the scan to go through the results and don't fancy another week of worrying.

Mine did there and then

When we had growth scans for dd we were told the results the same day. At the first one, the sonographer said it was abnormal so we were made to wait over 5 hours to see the consultant that day. That was a crappy day.

The second one was also abnormal but no more abnormal than the first, so the sonographer said we would need to be monitored and to make another scan appt in 2 weeks.

The third was normal and the sonographer told us at the time. I had unexplained polyhydramnios that sorted itself out at 36 weeks.

There and then. You can see them in the screen when the scan is being done then the sonographer will go through then and tell you the estimated weight. If it's abnormal you will prob be asked to stay and see one of the consultants team. Try not to worry if this happens, happened to me yesterday and I was in a right state thinking something was wrong but it was ok and just procedure.

Enjoy seeing your baby again

At each of mine I get a printed out report of the scan results which includes bar chart type diagrams of how 'in sync' all the separate measurements are with each other. They also plot the babies weight (well, I think it's the weight) on a graph which is also displayed on my print out. All my measurements have been fine and I have such scans every 4 weeks. It's lovely being able to see him over and over again
