Terrified its miscarriage

I'm hoping there maybe some mums on here that can give me some peace of mind.
I had a small chicken breast 4 days ago. Palm sized. I don't think it was cooked properly.
I had diarrhoea for 2 days which is now followed by constipation. I get abdominal pains when I feel like I need go go.
Earlier when I wash trying to go there was a small bit of blood in the toilet. I was really really constipated.
I'm terrified this is a sign of miscarriage and I'm hysterical with worry. I haven't bled any of time. Just when I was trying to go.

I'm 13 weeks pregnant. Any answers would be appreciated greatly

Were you straining to use the toilet? It's more likely the blood has come from that rather than anything to do with your pregnancy, but call your midwife for reassurance.

Yes I was straining.
Sorry I probably sound like such a drama queen.
Abdominal pains and blood and I've feared the worst!

Ah, I'd be the same - always easier to think logically when you're not the person going through it Grin

You may have a uti. They present differently in pregnancy. Go to your GP for a test.

I had a lot of bleeds. Just ring either NHS direst or the ADU. They will ask you to come in a do the relevant tests. Nearly always nothing!

Stress is what is bad for you so go and ease your mind :)

Without being TMI,
wash your hands thoroughly and then have a gentle puggle around 'inside' with a finger or two.
If there was enough blood to reach the toilet there will be some inside which you will find.
It sounds to me like you might have torn yourself a bit straining. Its happened to me before . It can look quite spectacular.

FredFlintstonesSister · 14/01/2014 09:38

I am not afraid of tmi! Is constipation a new thing for you? The blood is most likely from your anus and not your vagina! The first time this happened to my husband he had a heart attack - thought he had bowel cancer! It was just a small tear from straining. Like someone said earlier, insert a clean finger in your vagina and check for blood. If you don't find any you're probably fine. Make sure you are drinking LOTS of water - constipation is probably the result of previous upset stomach but it's pretty common in pregnancy anyway. Good luck.

Took your advice and had a little feel around. No blood.
Got my scan Thursday so I think that's when my mind will be completely at ease.
Thanks for all your replies.
Hopefully just me overreacting :)
