I thought pregnancy tests didn't give palse positives? but now there is a lot of talk of a chemical positive (see smurfgirl's thread) and I really want to know what it is ? How could you get multiple positive tests if you are not pregnant?

chemcial pregnancy is when the egg is fertilised but fails to implant. It generally gives a weak + test on day af is due or just before, then you get your period like a day or two late.
Bit heavier than normal..
I have had 2 of these

I think what is meant by this is that while a sperm and egg do fuse to begin an embryo and therefore produce HCG the pregnancy never implants properly and so doesn't continue. This is normally what is meant by a chemical pregnancy.

thank you. How long does the pregnancy hormone stick around? I guess a blood test can tell you because it measures the strength of the hormone?
