39 weeks today......urine sample like water? waters broke maybe?!

Hi all

I'm 39 weeks today, just done a urine sample and it is clear like water? I thought was strange so done another one and the same again? Wondered if maybe my waters may be leaking/broken?

My apptwith midwife is at 3 today would u advise I wait till then or ring the labour ward now? Not experiencing any other pain or anything ATM just slightly nausea us?

What do u think? Xxxx

If you know it came from your bladder then it's not your waters Confused have you drank more than usual?

Gushing, oozing or trickling? Do you have any control over the flow? Does it have white stuff floating in it? Does it smell like wee? If you lie down for a while then stand up, does more come out?
These are all signs of it being water. Or, you could just be well hydrated. If you arent sure I'd definitely tell the MW this afternoon if nothing else happens. Good luck.

I'm not sure if it did :/ I apologise in advance if tmi, I went for a wee but then I felt as if was a small gush which I couldn't control intact nearly missed the sample as I panicked a little looks at it and thought it was strange as was clear also smelt it and no smell at all really :/ I went and lay back down for about 15 mins and felt as if I was filling up again went for a wee armed with sample bottle and ready and again was clear with no real smell to it, I have drank a lot but I have all through this pregnancy and urine samples have always looked like urine this just looks different :/ xx

It is great that you have an appointment with your midwife at 3 today. I am sure you will be fine til then. Wear a sanitary pad and show it to the midwife. Don't let her fob you off unless she is absolutely sure, leaking waters should never be ignored.

Put a maternity pad on and lie down for a bit. If it's your waters you will have no control over it coming out when you stand up, whereas if its urine you can keep it in until you get to the bathroom. Also if it is your waters the midwife will want to check them.

None of us know if your waters are leaking Sammie. Ask your midwife this afternoon and good luck! You are going to meet your baby pretty soon Smile.

it could be a result of how much fluid intake u have had,

Waters do tend to have a distinctive smell. If it had no smell it sounds like very dilute urine to be honest

If its not still gushing every now and then uncontrollably, I doubt it was your waters.
