Ow! Painful wriggles

I'm nearly 31 weeks and every time I try to lie on my left side, baby wriggles in a way that is painful. Meanwhile, my back is killing me just being on my right side, so I'm wide awake. I take it this is normal...?

Yes totally normal as the baby gets bigger. I'm 35 weeks and have had painful wiggles for over a month now. Sometimes when I'm lying down he will kick so hard in my waist I will leap up a bit Smile

I'm 29+3 and sometimes the movements are so painful or uncomfortable I find myself grimacing or wincing . None of the movements I feel are soft and gentle anymore, more like big strong kicks and rolls...but some of them, bloody hell! Ouch!!

I've taken to putting a thin pillow under my bump to help me sleep - this baby seems to find it amusing to kick the bed when I lie on my left and it hurts! I'm a wriggler though and can't stay on one side all night :)

I get painful wriggles/movements, too. Not experienced with DC1 and 2. The placenta was anterior with both pregnancies, though.

So, I think it's because movements are less cushioned with a posterior placenta.

rockchick my baby is the same. It's like she uses the mattress as a trampoline! A pillow under my bump seems to help too.

I never get flutters either op. Just huge kicks, wriggles when're she seems to turn all the way round and back again and punches to the cervix. It also feels like she's headbuttig me in the cervix and wriggling her head from side to side.

Yy rock and loopy. BabyLast likes nothing more than a good stomp against the mattress at 2am. It really makes me jump!

In fact s/he loves to kick & punch anything solid - ribs, hip bones, daddy's back...

I suppose entertainment is fairly limited in there, so they have to make the best of the sport available.

Thanks all. Know what you mean about kicking against the mattress! Very weird feeling. My placenta is anterior so I guess the sideways kicks are the ones I feel more. It's nice to know that baby is responding to things, very exciting!!
