I love Lush and a friend has bought me loads of bath bombs that I would love to use. Is it true these products shouldn't be used during pg?

Ooh I hope they're ok. I've been using them. 35 weeks and baby seems ok. I don't see why they wouldn't be as long as the bath's not too hot.

There are some essential oils which shouldn't be used in pregnancy. Clary sage springs to mind but there are others and a quick google should find you a list. Check the Lush website to see what's in each one.

This guidance is from Lush Canada but seems relevant.

I've been using them too I'm 26 weeks and they are the highlight of my day lol please don't let it be yet another thing band in pregnancy.

I think all in moderation should be ok right?

VJONES1985 · 12/01/2014 16:24

I emailed them about this when I was pregnant, got a lovely email back saying they are fine and which ones they recommend

VJONES1985 · 12/01/2014 16:57

That's nice, choc - I might pop into my local one and have a chat about it :)

V jones I've booking app on Monday. But no scan date as of yet but hope it's not too long away the wait is killing me

VJONES1985 · 12/01/2014 17:28

I just can't get my booking app sorted :( I'm not giving birth at my local hospital and this seems to have caused loads of issues, for some reason. Am seeing my diabetes consultant on Tuesday so will mention it to him and hopefully he'll organise it.

still what products did they recommend, I got quite a few for Xmas but I was going to save them for when I finish work

StillaChocoholic · 12/01/2014 20:52

I emailed in August 2012 so don't know how much the products have changed but this is basically what they sent me

Due to the very small quantities of the oils that we use in our products, I can assure you that all the items in our stores, including Dragon's Egg are suitable for use during pregnancy. The danger only arises when the oils are applied neat directly to the skin or with a carrier oil. All the ingredients are available in the stores with the naked products, as well as in the Lush Times. So if you wanted to have a look at some products before you went into your local store you can do, but you can also have a look while actually at the store and also ask for advice from our staff.

We do also have many products that our customers have found very good during pregnancy. Products that moisturise the body and help to keep the skin supple and stretchable (to help prevent stretch marks) will be ideal. Our Butterball Bath Ballistic is a good choice with its soothing vanilla fragrance and pieces of real cocoa butter for moisturising your skin. Dream Cream hand and body lotion is great for particularly dry skin and Ultrabland cleanser and Celestial facial moisturiser are also ideal choices as they are designed for sensitive skin. Therapy massage bar is also a gorgeous solid moisturiser which is preservative free, containing lavender and neroli to help with the elasticity of the skin and to soften it beautifully! Therapy is perfect for a relaxing back and shoulder massage too!
