DS name suggestions for the new baby

Just wanted to share some pearls of wisdom voiced by DS today. DS said that we should call the new baby "Oleg" like the baby meerkat on the Compare the Market adverts. He also warned us that "people babies are like meerkat babies, they are eating and pooping machines"!!

DD has chosen Emily for a girl (so far so good) and... Juliet for a boy. I've thanked her for her input and won't mention it to her again I don't think Grin

Surely better than my dh who wants to name it after the winning goal scorer in the world cup-due mid July. I said if England are in the final...please don't let England suddenly learn how to play football!

My DH seriously thought I would consider Trinity as a name for our DD.

My uncle was called Oleg (he was Russian though). I like Anton. Not quite so sure about Gruffalo and Yoda although Gruffalo has a certain something Grin

My ds wasn't yet speaking much when dd was born so we don't have any sweet stories although dog naming only in our household was a bit of a competition between dh and ds on the silly name front.

nooka I've nothing against Oleg if you are Russian but it would HAVE to be the full title of "Oleg Meerkat" if DS had his way!
ickle I don't thing England will win World Cup but you never know....!!
Now whenever I hear that Girls Aloud song I will be singing the lyrics as "poo machine"!!

my DM (who is lovely but a bit of a loon) has always said that my first-born has to be called Drumlin. I'm now 12 weeks and its quite tempting to call her bluff. (in case you don't know, a drumlin is a geographical feature, an egg-shaped hill left after a glacier has retreated I think!!!!)

she also says that if its twins, they should be called spiteful and peevish, which is even worse than what she called me and my twin brother before we were born - firkin and gherkin!

and if she had a dog she'd call it rickets. Confused

thebestnames at least we can excuse kids coming up with dodgy names as they are only little but your DM has no such excuse!!! Grin

Oleg Meerkat is of course fabulous, your new baby will so appreciate that as a name Grin Twin bad name stories make me thing of widdle and puke from My Family and other Animals.

ds (2.6) is favouring Sam, Thomas and penny. quite clear on his favourite tv programs, although he also likes peppa pig and has not suggested that for a girl!!

DS wanted Pizza. Or Goatch. (No, I don't know either.) Then it was Rose or Lily for a boy because, "you always say there's no such thing as boys things and girls things, Mummy."

Thankfully he settled on a very sweet, very normal name we all liked and suggested to him in the end. But blimey.

perfectstorm isn't it annoying when kids use your own arguments against you!! (I.e.no such thing as boys and girls things).
I do quite like Thomas but as soon as I think of it I get a picture in my mind of a blue train!
This baby naming malarkey is hard work!

When I was very preg with DS2 we had to take our car to the vet. "And what are you going to call your new baby DS1?" The vet solicitously enquired. "Bob the Builder" replied DS1 Vet was Hmm
