I've just been to the doctors at 16 weeks pregnant, I've only just found out and she said she can't feel what she'd expect for 16 weeks. What is that supposed to mean? I'm scared that something is wrong. She said maybe I'm not as far along as I think but I know I the last time I had sex! What is she supposed to feel? I don't have a bump but I've never been big so I didn't expect to put on weight until later on but I'm worried. Any advice on what I'm supposed to feel like? I feel like I can feel movement already!

How worrying for you. What did she say about what will happen next? Any scans booked or bloods taken?

She said she'll tell the midwife to get in touch. I haven't felt any pains or had bleeding or anything so I'm hoping I'm just being paranoid.

I would call your local epu (emergency pregnancy unit)- mine is open 24hrs and they will be able to schedule you a scan asap - I take it you haven't had a scan yet

Defiantly go to the EPU.

Call your hospital to find out their procedure. Some you need a GP referal, some you have to be refered from A&E and some you can just turn up.

But they will scan you so you can know how far along you are.

I contacted the hospital and I needed GP referral. I have been pushed to top of the pile and I have an appointment this week. To put my mind at ease I bought a baby Doppler. I heard my baby's perfect little heartbeat :) it's the best feeling in the world. It was pretty low down, just above my bikini line so I think I just haven't grown much as it's my first baby. My gut instinct is telling me everything is ok so I'm not worrying now. Thanks for your replies.

I'm also 16 weeks, and Doppler picks up heartbeat just where yours does - right above the bikini line. My dr said it's really only after 16 weeks that things start to move upwards! Hope the scan goes well!
