Hi, It's my first preganancy so this is all new. I've not had my first scan but i'm about 9weeks. I've had cramps & backache since about 7/8 weeks and i still have them. Was wondering if anyone could advise how long they should last? As a first time pregnancy i'm worrying over every ache and pain but dont want to seem 'silly' by bothering my doctor.
Appreciate thoughts?

I had cramps for weeks and weeks. Was awful but took paracetamol. Gynae said it was normal as your uterus stretches and has the placenta growing. Didn't expect it at all!

I'm 9 weeks today and I've had back pain and stomach pain for about the same length of time as you.. its been horrific. I saw the midwife on Tuesday for my booking appointment and she said pain can be normal due to the ligaments stretching. She said if it continues or get worse to call the maternity assessment unit at the hospital. However she also said that if I experience any bleeding at all to phone the EPU straight away. Hope this helps. Paracetamol and hot water bottles worked for me.

Hey! Period like cramps are normal in early pregnancy as is a bit of back ache. If your back ache is really bad (I mean like someone has hit you across the back with a lump of wood), it might be worth going to the GP.
