Hi :-) I'm 39+5 weeks with my 4th baby, been getting regular tightnings with pain every night for 2 weeks now, starts at night, lasts for few hours, and wen I wake up they gone. I'm getting really fed up.

can hardly walk through the day either, feels like my pelvis is gonna crack, soo painful.

With my other 3 babies I had no braxton hicks or signs at all, so I don't know wots happening, I thought braxton hicks were spose b painless (ish) but I'm getting the tightnings, stomach craps, and the back labour pains with each BH, every 10 mins, lasting approx 20-30 seconds... ???? Confused.com

Any one going through the same or any advise would be much appreciated :) x

I'm the same! DC2 for me and am currently 37+5. I went into labour naturally at 38+1 (waters broke) with DS and i'm very much on edge with every niggle, pain & tightening. I'm having elcs this time due to previous 4th degree tear & shoulder dystocia and am really worried about going into labour naturally. I was admitted overnight last week for monitoring as the pains/tightenings were so consistent with early labour but an examination showed my cervix is closed so they are happy for me to be at home. They wont bring my elcs forward to an earlier date than 39+2 either but are happy to preform an emergency c-section if required - one department of consultants too concerned with ticking boxes and as baby is not showing any signs of distress other department wants to keep baby where it is for as long as possible.

Thankfully things have calmed down over the last few days, most days though i'm having times when i think i need to start timing them but after an hour or two (and pain killers) they would die down again.

So so frustrating and really hard work mentally as well as physically. I dont feel i can trust my body at the moment, especially as i'm at higher risk of waters breaking early due to beig hypermobile, which also means i have bad spd and so trying to rest as much as possible.

Iv not been examined but wen I was in hospital on moniters the other day the contractions (BH) were showing up on graph. Midwife said because I'm getting so many its probably doing some dilating and thinning. Which makes me more anxious because I don't know how dilated I cud be. They wont even give me a sweep for another 2 weeks :(

I have SPD aswell, not nice at all, I was wondering weva that will make the pushing stage harder, with pelvis being so sore and weak. X

If you need to be monitored again you can ask them to have a look at your cervix to see if any changes. They were reluctant to check me at first as i was only 36 weeks and didnt want to 'set anything off' so doctor had a look using a speculum as they needed to make sure.

I have no idea if pushing stage will be harder as i didnt have spd last time.

Hmmm... I just posted on the overdue thread about similar. From 38 to 39 w ish i had similar. Waking me at 3-4am ish. Neediing to pace around but never more than 1 every 10 mins. Lasting 1-2 hours. Vomiting with them too at times. This is ds4 too.

Well Im currently 40+5.... Still no proper labour and no pains fir a week!!! Apparently Im 2cm ish and baby fine and in right position.

So hopefully even with these pains you'll be fine until your planned section. Good luck
