Is this normal? Would epu be concerned if no bleeding?

Hi ladies I'm currently 18+6 with my first very much longed for Dc. I've been feeling the odd fluttering and been having headaches and dizziness but over the last couple of days I feel completely normal. I can't feel the muscle aches Fromm stomach stretching and I don't think I've felt any flutters. I am so worried something has gone wrong but didn't know if epu would see me as I haven't had any bleeding. I have a gender scan on Sunday and the thought of going to that to find baby has gone nearly has me in tears. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

call your midwife. She'll be used to advising in these situations, I wouldn't think you'd need epu, you're not in early pg anymore, you can ring mw any time you're concerned.

On my notes it says epu is up to 20 weeks. I don't have a number for my mw directly, just the appointment line. Do you think I should call them in the morning? Do they just see you anytime? I would just like them to listen in for the heartbeat for some reassurance. I had it before Xmas but that was the last time I had a check up x

I think you should ring the EPU in the morning and go get checked out. If you explain how worried you are and specifically ask to go in and get checked, they should have you come in and check. If you are concerned then it's worth getting checked out.

Thanks buffy I will call them in the morning. I just need to know one way or another x

I'm sure all is fine and it's just the panic leading up to the scan (I felt the panic both times with dd) BUT having said this if you feel that worried then ring and ask to be seen im sure they'd rather put your mind at rest! Good luck

I didn't feel any proper movement with this baby (no. 3), until around 19-20 weeks or so, and even that was sporadic. I felt things much earlier with my first two.

I'm now 22+4 and some days other than my big ole belly I don't really feel pregnant, just bloated. I would personally try not to worry (easier said than done), I'm sure all is well.

Writerwannabe83 · 10/01/2014 08:43

I'm sure all is fine - I was told that for women having first it's typical to not feel regular foetal patterns and movements until 23 weeks pregnant. Obviously give them a call though and I'm sure they'll be able to reassure you well.

Thank you for all the messages. After a terrible anxious restless night i felt flutters this morning and started my work day by vomiting. Does the panicking ever go away? X x

The panicking never goes away, even after you've had the baby Grin Glad you're feeling better. At this stage baby is so small that if they turn position slightly you won't feel their movements any more, its scary but entirely normal.
