Has anyone else experienced nose bleeds in early pg? Didn't have this with dd, but am 6wks now and have had about half a dozen. They're quite brief and not very heavy, I just find it a bit odd.

I had one or two when I was pregnant, and I have never ever had them before (or since). It is one of those things that can happen, it's "normal"...unless you have loads and loads...can't remember the reason for it though...someone will I'm sure...

I had tonnes of them esp during the early part, it was mainly at night, then went thru a stage of none then they came back at the end again. my m/w said it was due to the hormones changing. (don't know if it's right but hasn't seemed to harm eitehr me/joey at all)

if your worried/concerned at all then bring it up with your m/w when you see her for your booking in apt/the dr if u see him frist.

i'd never had them in my lie, but then got a few in late pregnancy... is it something to do with blood pressure?

Yes I had a lot from early on until around end of 2nd trimester - very stuffy all the time as well. Seems to have disappeared now though (37wks).

I get these in pg - and never any other time.

NOT to do with blood pressure (mine has always been normal). They are nothing to worry about. Possible explanantion from Pregnancy info:

Nosebleeds causes in pregnancy are probably the result of increased blood flow. Pregnant women actually have 30% to 50% more blood circulating in their bodies than they would normally. This blood is needed in order to maintain a healthy placenta and baby.

As hormones like estrogen and progesterone rise during pregnancy, so too does a woman?s blood flow.

Yup, I had loads with ds, but not so many this time round. They seemed to happen at the worst time! Once I was on a train, just pulling into a station, and I had no tissues!

I had a really stuffy nose and crusty bloody nostrils (gross sorry), ie everytime I blew my nose there was a bit of blood (or rather bloody bogies [sorry again]) from beginning to end of pregnancy.
