Hi All, im not sure if this is the right topic group to post this, sorry if not. I have a cotbed but i am yet to buy a mattress, it all seems a bit confusing - what is best, do i need to spend loads of money on one? They seem to range from £90 roughly upwards, my cotbed is from Mamas and Papas so was looking to buy it from there but not sure whether it would be best to buy elsewhere?
What is everyones thoughts on this? Does it need to be the best support etc?
Thank you from a confused mummy to be! :-)

Argos sell them starting from £30 as do babies r us, I would of thought that you could get a fairly decent mattress without going over £100.

We got ours from Mothercare for £80.

Only thing id advise if if you are planning on using it as a toddler bed too, go for spring mattress as it will last longer and cope better with the weight of a 4/5yo.

If you think it will only be used til 2/3 just go for sponge.

I got a deluxe foam mattress from Kiddecare for £54. It looks pretty good is 4 inches wide.
We have always used foam mattresses without any problems.

£40 from John Lewis, used it till we moved DD into a full single. Have just brought a new one for new DC.

We went for John Lewis ones too, very pleased with them.

Kiddicare were good for us, agree with the poster who said as you have a cot bed spend a bit more and get a sprung mattress!

We have the green baby ones. Cost more but I'm
Glad we did as we still use the cot bed for eldest at 4 and he has plenty of space still so I think we will get 5/6 years of use out of it. It's very comfy and I liked that they used natural materials

I got the clevamama one from kiddicare as recommended by my sister, no other reason apart from that!
