Early pregnancy exhaustion

I'm 5 + 3 so very early on but my god, I'm so very tired. I only work 18 hours so can't blame it on work but all I want to is sleep. I'm averaging 11 hours a night and still feel like I've been hit over the head with a steam roller. I think I could sleep all day (and only wake for meals) and still be tired!

I don't remember being this tired with DC1 (who is 5) either.

That should have read: I only work 18 hours a week.....

Maybe you're more tired because of DC Grin I imagine s/he takes up a lot of your time where you could otherwise be resting??

My early pregnancy fatigue hit me between weeks 8 and 10 and it was horrendous. You have my sympathies Thanks

I don't want to panic you but I felt like this at 5 ish weeks too and at 6 weeks had a scan to discover I'm expecting triplets.

Is there any chance your expecting more than one?

PenguinsDontEatKale · 07/01/2014 21:50

I have had this each time, getting worse with each pregnancy (currently expecting DC3). It didn't lift this time until about 18 weeks.

Sorry!

MrsGiraffe12 · 07/01/2014 22:33

amo I suppose there's every chance I could be. I'm one if twins as is my mum, plus great grandma had 3 twin pregnancies. But my pregnancy tests are still quite faint at 5 + 3 so surely they wouldn't be with multiples?

penguins and wannabewriter thankyou for replies. I hope it lifts sooner than 18 weeks, feeling pretty useless as a wife and mother at the mo x

Same here giraffe. I'm somehwere between 5+3 and 6+3 with a long awaited first. I think some of mu tiredness is from excitement but can't help but wonder if there may be more than one!

KitKatChick · 07/01/2014 23:31

Feeling your pain too. I somehow manage to keep going during the week but totally collapse at the weekends. I'm nearly 10 weeks now and feeling a bit better so there's hope or maybe you're right and you're in for double the joy. How exciting!
