Snoring

I am wide awake in bed on my own because my DH has gone into the spare room to sleep because my snoring is so bad now. I am 38+ weeks and it's really upsetting me. I never snored before being pregnant and it's really getting me down. I am being so silly because now he is not in our bed I can't sleep but he can't sleep here as he has to be up at 5am! I feel so bad. I just read on the web about snoring in pregnancy and how it can stop oxygen and blood flow to the baby causing low birth weight and now I am lying here in tears! That was enough to stop me from wanting to sleep at all.

Just had to get that off my chest. So fed up of pregnancy now.

Don't panic about what you've read online, google is adangerous thing! Have you tried sleeping propped up to almost a sitting position! You'll get plenty of support, air and sleep and it should lessen any snoring.
You've not got long left to go, hang on in there.

I'm 31 weeks and snoring, never did before pg. I sometimes wear the snore strips which lessen it according to my DH.

I've never heard of it being bad for the baby, but I have heard it's fairly common so I don't think we are alone.

As mogz said, not long no now!

Oh I feel your pain. And also only 31 weeks. I keep walking myself up snoring. So glamorous.

TooTryHard · 07/01/2014 10:23

It's, completely normal!

I've done it towards the end with all three and it stops as soon as they're out.

littlecrumb · 07/01/2014 11:48

Thank you for the replies, so glad I am not alone in this. I should know not to go on google! I have tried sitting more upright with pillows but then I get bad hip ache, can't win!

Hopefully baby will be out really soon and I can sleep like a normal person again (on my back, tummy, flat, 1 pillow!) Smile

littlecrumb I feel your pain. I've supplied earplugs for dh as a last resort (on condition that they're not to be used to block out tiny baby cries in a few weeks time...) and they've been lifesavers. Much better than one of you having to move into the spare room in your last few weeks before the baby arrives.

Snore strips are ace, they less than a fiver and are fine to use in pregnancy. They completely got rid of my snoring when I was pg with DC1.

littlecrumb · 07/01/2014 21:28

I got some nasal strips today and going to try it out tonight! Hope they work!

Did you have any luck with the snore strips?

littlecrumb · 09/01/2014 13:18

Yes & they are amazing! Tried one out last night and DH said I did not snore once! He can't believe it lol. Thanks all! We can finally get a good night sleep and poor DH does not need to sleep in the spare room now.

I have just started snoring, and long may it continue! I love having the king size bed to myself and at least I don't have to put up with dh's farting :). It does go as soon as you have had baby!!

littlecrumb · 15/01/2014 10:48

The nasal strips worked for 2 nights and then I must of become immune to them because I am snoring again! Confused

Due date tomorrow so hopefully it will stop straight away. So fed up of DH waking me up to tell me I am being too loud grrr!

I've started snoring this week (29 weeks).

I kept waking myself up while nodding off last night. Dh kept telling me I sounded stupid.

So now I am huge, ugly, fat and I snore, no wonder he won't come near me.

littlecrumb · 15/01/2014 20:54

Totally know how you feel loopy. Late pregnancy sucks.

Hand up Me too! I'm now 41+3 and apparently I've snored terribly for the past few weeks (I'm too shattered to notice),, I've also started dribbling so bad my pillow is soaked every night. Delightful and attractive! Hopefully it wont last forever Confused
