Kick counting app?

Hello

I'm now 22 weeks! Little kicks being felt from time to time. Still quite gentle. So I'm not very good at noticing unless I'm still. Back to work today so sitting at desk noticed more movement.

I wondered if anyone has got on well with any kick counting apps. Preferably for iPhone but have a windows phone too.

I just want one that I can record when I feel movement. I don't notice how long it goes on for, is that important?

Don't mind if it's a general preggo app recommendation, I don't have one of those either. Except the bump which I only use to see how big baby is each week!

Thanks in advance!

The mothercare app for has a kick counter and contraction timer, as well as music for bump (to encourage movement) and white noise for baby.
The kick counter saves each session and you can send a copy to your email if you need to keep records. Very highly recommended.

According to my widwife (for what its worth), it is impossible and pretty pointless counting kicks, it is just a fad. She says that recognising patterns is more useful, eg does baby kick regularly at certain times of day and getting to know their patterns is more useful at highlighting changes in 'behaviour'.

Why do you need an app for that? Confused

I have always been advised to count kicks when i feel concerned about lack of movement. 10 movements in a 2 hour period i am told is what they look for. An app is handy to keep track.....

I wouldn't start counting yet 22 weeks is just soon you will just worry unnecessarily.

Still your midwife is wrong , counting kicks can save a babies life.

I have the 'count the kicks' free app.
It will do other stuff - kick sessions etc. but you can just tap the little pink foot to record.

If you want an app, get an app OP. It's not hurting anyone and anything that encourages awareness of your baby's movements is a good thing Smile

Thanks for the advice. I don't really see how counting kicks can be a bad thing?!

It's not a bad thing you should count kicks , it's just not reliable this soon , so you might think there is a problem when there isn't.
