I am 8 weeks pregnant! So so very very thankful as its been a long long difficult journey to get to this point and I am still terrified that something will go wrong.. Anyway I am finding my jeans/ jeggings uncomfortable both round the waist and on my legs, I think my legs have got chunkier? If anyone knows what I could do ie...cut my jeggings/jeans round the waist or what could I buy before having to buy real maternity clothes??? TIA

I bought leggings in a larger size but now wear ones which go over the bump.

May be worth going straight for maternity leggings, they will grow with you and you'll get more use out of your purchase. I got mine from new look and there fab!

You could get one of those waist extender things for your jeans and use those until you wanted to move to proper maternity jeans.

Not really answering your question but I found regular jeggings and leggings uncomfortable on my stomach from really early on. I'd reccomend biting the bullet and buying maternity leggings and possibly jeans now. At least you'll get plenty of use from them.

Hi, for the time being till you get to the shops I found the hair elastic trick a life saver - thread it through the button hole of your jeans so it make a secure loop and then put the loop over the button (hope that makes sense?!), means you can wear your favourite jeans for longer! Just wear a long vest over the top and no-one is the wiser! Note, this also works fantastically if you've had a massive lunch and can't do your jeans up Blush

I couldn't be without my maternity leggings - they are all I wear these days!

I bought some waist extender things from Amazon today actually, and was offered a 3 month free trial of Amazon family, including free next day delivery. I am still feeling pleased, my jeans are fitting fine but I can hardly fasten my work trousers (not sure if its my bump beginning to show at 15 weeks or post Christmas bulge), and need to look smart for an important meeting on wednesday. I really hope they work! I have some maternity clothes from a friend and they are too big round the stomach and just fall down at the moment.

OP, this is the sort of thing I meant www.amazon.co.uk/Carriwell-Maternity-Adjustable-Trouser-Extender/dp/B001TH9M98

I just stopped wearing jeans at about 10 weeks! I hav managed so far in just my normal leggins and also bought some in next size up.
Im only just in maternity stuff at 19 weeks.

Bigger leggings/ maternity leggings have been good for me at early stages.

I was in tunics/ dresses with leggings a lot when just beginning to grow.

Some softer fabric trousers are also much more forgiving than jeans - anything is more forgiving than jeans really!

Can you still wear tights? Or hold ups with dresses (may be a bit cold in winter though!)

maternity leggings/ jeans/ joggers help with ms. the pressure on your tummy is eased by not having a band tight around there. and its just generally comfier. take a look at matalan they have some on sale at the moment (or did the last time i checked)
