Too early to buy pushchair?!

I am 23 weeks, got my heart set on an icandy. The stockists say I should get now if I want the colour I desire. Should be here within 2-4 weeks. Is this too early to buy?! Feel like I'm jinxing myself!!

We ordered our icandy (apple) before the 20 weeks scan as the shop told us there was a long lead time. That was nonsense, it was with us in a couple of weeks.

I think 23 weeks is fine, what colour have you gone for?

Clargo55 · 06/01/2014 18:09

Go for it! I would love one they look great. No harm in it being with you early. Better than being late.

K8eee · 06/01/2014 18:10

Emma which icandy are you looking at? John Lewis have a brilliant anniversary offer on the apple 2 pear Smile we've got ours and must've ordered it just after 21 weeks. You get to pick what colour hood you want too!

W2bpgn · 06/01/2014 18:14

I brought my icandy peach 2 at about 24/25 weeks. The only thing I had to wait for was the car seat and only had a week wait in total as wanted to pick it all up in one go so didn't forget anything.
Not yet unboxed it as still have 4 weeks to go. x

OhNoGeorge · 06/01/2014 18:21

I've got a peach Blossom 2 (double kit) and I love it! I've had it for over a year now and it is great to push, fab as a single and double pushchair and really flexible. The one downside is that you can't fold it in one piece but given the range if seating options that's a small price to pay. It's a great mix of city and 'off road' buggy, does both nicely.

emmajbxxx · 06/01/2014 18:27

Pinkbell, thinkin maybe black or silver. The silver is lovely but thinking of the dirt? It'll show? I'm having a girl and would love the purple but partner not so keen and would also like to use again in future.
What colour option did you go for?

emmajbxxx · 06/01/2014 18:27

K8eee I'm going for the peach2

I'm also thinking about the peach 2! Only 16 weeks so far so was thinking of waiting another 10 weeks before getting the buggy.

If ordering from JL (who I suppose should have more and more color options than smaller shops) how long were you told you'd have to wait?

Don't know the sex yet, but yes the purple is lovely! ;)

Spaghettinetti · 06/01/2014 18:57

Hi Emma. I know how you feel. I'm also 23 weeks and ordered my pushchair on Saturday. I think it's too early, but I guess you have to be organised and as there are lots of good deals on at the moment, it seems silly to wait. I ordered mine from mamas and papas and have taken advantage of the fact that you can pay the full amount just before delivery...and that if you can all the order the deposit is refunded. I've bought a few things in the sales, but I've put it all away and don't plan on buying anything else until April... I know it's hard not to let superstition get the better of you...but if something's going to happen, it'll happen whether or not you've got a pushchair... All the best! X

Spaghettinetti · 06/01/2014 18:59

'Can all' should read 'cancel'

emmajbxxx · 06/01/2014 19:07

Lillajag. I visited Babynest near Croydon, stocks all brands. They said the wait should be 2-4 weeks depending on stock. But 4 weeks max.
What deal are JL offering? If you don't mind me asking? X

Pinkbell123 · 06/01/2014 19:18

We got a purple (cassis I think it's called) apple 2 pear and its so nice!

Pinkbell123 · 06/01/2014 19:20

Oh and we got the John Lewis offer too. Chassis, pushchair, carrycot, car seat adaptors, mosquito nets, rain cover and you can choose the colour.

emmajbxxx · 06/01/2014 19:35

Yea I get the same deal. Am going in to buy it Saturday with my dad (he's buying bless him!) and will assemble and keep at my mother in laws. Superstitious about the whole pram in house thing!

lillajag · 06/01/2014 19:46

Emma; don't actually know which deals JL got as I was planning on waiting a bit before buying. But I might go down to Croydon and have a look (after stopping at IKEA for some Swedish goodies this baby is craving!)

Have you actually already bought yours? :)

emmajbxxx · 06/01/2014 19:50

Going to buy on Saturday. The whole deal (chassis, carrycot, forward facing seat, rain cover, mosquito nets, car seat adapters) £830. The car seat is selling at £100. JL deal on the peach2 is slightly higher, but everywhere about the same in pricing ? they have just opened a huge Kiddicare round the corner too! x

Sorry, didn't see your last post! Which colour are you going for? I'm thinking the same as you about the silver one and dirt (and my DP is very messy!) but it's soo pretty! :)

emmajbxxx · 06/01/2014 20:22

I know, it's stunning. I'm having a girl and used to hate black prams but they're so practical! Even the silver display one had slight dirt and finger marks on

OP posts:
emmajbxxx · 06/01/2014 20:24

So i'm going for black magic x

OP posts:
Artandco · 06/01/2014 20:28

I like black best. Means you can customised easier. Ie we had a all black bugaboo. Only boys but one winter had all sheepskin and fur in it, in the summer a white liner with red parasol and red blanket, then another summer changed parasol to Green and liner to light blue with green and blue blanket. Have x2 boys

However that might just be me with colour coordinating :) but I wouldn't have wanted say green blanket with a red pram

seatfor5 · 06/01/2014 20:57

Just a thought did you know they are releasing an Icandy Peach 3 in the next few months which you can get a matt black frame for and comes in new colours also both seats can rear face :)

BEEwitched · 07/01/2014 08:33

I just had my 20 week scan yesterday (turns out I'm 19+4) and we're off to the pram shop on Saturday. Can't wait.

I love the look of the iCandy Peach Jogger, we have a dog and live by the sea, it looks brilliant for sand - definitely one I'm going to try out.
