First time, about 22 weeks (anterior placenta though). Second time, I swear I felt it a few times around 14 weeks, but nothing regular until nearer 20.

How far along are you? The first 'flutters' are usually felt really really low down, and (IME) feel a bit like a tiny fish swimming around!

Wuxiapian · 06/01/2014 15:01

With DS1 about 20 weeks.
With DS2 about 24 weeks (anterior placenta).
With DD about 23 weeks (posterior placenta).

lizziekal · 06/01/2014 15:01

FTM- around 16 weeks, at the beginning felt like little gentle strokes from inside about halfway between belly button and pubic bone.

AnnieCatsmumtoo · 06/01/2014 15:03

At about 16 -18 weeks, it felt like bubbles going down a tube/fluttering sensation.

Claryrocks · 06/01/2014 15:05

DD1 I was about 16 weeks
DS1 I was about 12 weeks!
DC three.....6 weeks and still waiting!

PotatoPolly · 06/01/2014 15:08

I felt what I was sure were movements about 18 weeks.
I'd describe it as like when you go over a small humpback bridge and you leave your stomach behind! and some small poke like sensations.
so exciting!

LucyB1 · 06/01/2014 15:13

im 14 weeks and it feels nothing like this so must be anxiety only. Very excited for that special moment though! cant WAIT!!!!

16 weeks and felt like kicks from a tiny human

MissMedusa · 06/01/2014 15:38

I felt my first little poke at around 14 weeks but only now and again and could easily have been confused as gas. At 18 weeks the movement became more regular and there was no more confusing it as gas and by 20 weeks the movement got so strong that it can be painful if he gets me very low down and wakes me up at night.

I have an anterior placenta but it's on the left side so I only feel movement low down and on the front right side.

DearTeddyRobinson · 06/01/2014 15:43

18 weeks bang on. It felt like bubbles of wind to be honest! I think i had been feeling them for a while but assumed I needed to fart Blush

Writerwannabe83 · 06/01/2014 16:08

I felt little wooshes and flickers at 19 weeks but still very 'was it or wasn't it?' type sensations...

Probably started feeling actual movements at about 21 weeks which then progressed onto very obvious kicks and wriggles by about 24 weeks.

Dusty04 · 06/01/2014 16:15

19 weeks. I didn't get the flutters/butterflies/bubbles it was straight to little kicks :) DH first felt baby move at 21 weeks

juneau · 06/01/2014 16:16

17 weeks both times. Felt like tiny fluttering movements. Lovely!

Notfastmainlyfurious · 06/01/2014 16:21

17 weeks last time and I think I felt something yesterday at 16 weeks. Feels like tiny bubbles way down deep inside like I'm carrying a wee fish tank

whatnow33 · 06/01/2014 16:25

About 18 weeks. You know when fish do that thing where they turn back on themselves? It felt like baby was doing that. Sort of squirmy feeling Grin . I never had bubbles or butterflies or anything like that.

sambababy · 06/01/2014 16:26

I was about 17wks but I didn't spot the fluttering feelings. If I lay down and put my hands low on my belly, I could feel a very light tap every now and then, particularly before I went to sleep after lying down for a little while. It took patience though. DH felt around 19wks. Now I'm 22wks I can feel the baby moving very easily, I think I have a real kicker!

PuppyMummy · 06/01/2014 17:10

im 19 weeks and just starting to feel some twitching! its low down and feels like a flicker or twitch but from the inside! can't feel it from the outside yet.

im looking forward to some 'proper' kicks that oh can feel too.

LastOneDancing · 06/01/2014 17:19

I had a tickly sensation from about 14 weeks and a 'bubbly' feeling.

At 27w I now have rolling, heaving, crazy-legged, bunny thumping, rib cracking, judo chops going on fairly continuously. It's just 'magical' ConfusedGrin

moominleigh94 · 06/01/2014 17:42

no twitching and fluttering. Started feeling little kicks from about 20 weeks. Now I'm 24 weeks and it kicks constantly. OH felt it for the first time on Boxing Day morning Grin

Waitinggame8 · 06/01/2014 18:05

18 weeks this week and I've been having the bubbly kind of swooshy feelings for a week or 2. Definitely feeling stronger pokes and prods now, and if I lie on my back at night we can sometimes feel the length of the baby lying, which normally results in some wriggles and pokes before they disappear further in.
Can't wait until I can feel it all properly, OH is super excited about that happening soon.
Think we have quite an active little one judging by the above stuff and how much it wriggled and hid on our scan day. Smile

IAmTheOneWhoKnocks · 06/01/2014 18:10

Can't remember last time but it was 15/16 weeks this time. It's a lovely feeling but the novelty soon wears off when they're huge and have no room to move!

AnnieCatsmumtoo · 06/01/2014 18:11

One of the best feelings in the world - you never forget the bizarre experience when your baby is bigger, wriggling about - I remember lying in the bath watching my bump as the shape kept changing as she moved. We used to push gently back if an elbow (or perhaps a foot) pushed us!

Elliejmulligan · 06/01/2014 21:56

I'm 36 weeks first baby felt at 20 weeks. Now it doesn't stop all day long. Makes me jump when it kicks.. It's weird! But re assuring all is well!

ChicaMomma · 07/01/2014 09:28

In the last week- 16-17- very gentle tapping on one side! really enjoying them. Seem to get more in the morning upon waking. Cant wait for them to get stronger!

adaloveslace · 07/01/2014 10:29

I've been feeling little flutters and taps since 13 or 14 weeks. Now almost 18 weeks and feeling definite, occasionally sore kicks. When she's awake I feel very frequent movement. My placenta's to the back and this is DC3, both of which I think make a difference.

My obstetrician told me today she's seen women who can feel movement at 12 weeks (verified on the ultrasound!)
