I'm 33 weeks +3 and had no signs of Braxton hicks. When do they usually start to happen? Do they hurt? And where about do you feel them?

I never had any with my first but tons with my second one. For me it just felt like my bump got very tight for a bit no pain.

Hey 35 weeks here I haven't had any I don't think. Just getting cramp in my groin and back not sure if that's anything to do with it sxx

MrsPatMustard · 06/01/2014 08:55

They're not really painful - more a sensation of your abdomen being pulled super tight and everything hardening. Not everybody gets them, so I wouldn't worry...

MissMedusa · 06/01/2014 10:58

I've been getting them since 18 weeks. They are not painful at all and it mostly just feels like the baby has moved into a different position and the uterus is hard. Sometimes the whole thing gets hard and sometimes just parts of it go hard. It softens up after 30 seconds or so.I feel it most often first thing when I wake up and roll onto my back.

If Braxton hicks are you body preparing for labour/birth, is there any difference for women who didn't have them, does anyone know? Like longer labour? I also haven't had them yet but only 22wks so there's still plenty of time.
