Child Tax Credits question

Hi all

I've been perusing the HMRC website and filled in the Child Tax Credit calculator to get a rough idea of what we may be entitled to once DC is born, I won't be working for a while (not on jobseekers or any benefits) and DP is self employed and doesn't earn a fortune. The calculator said £133 but I can't see if that is a week, a month, a year or what!?

Can anyone shed any light? Confused!

Many thanks

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I fairly certain that the figure they give is per year.

Yes it's for a year but the calculation is done from when you input your details until the end of the financial year. ie. £133 is your total entitlement from now until 5 April 2014

I'm still on mat leave my partner earns around 18,000 grand a year and from April 2012 to April 2013 we get 133 a week. Give them a call there quite good at giving estimates over the phone x

Zara83, do you get that on top of your smp?

moobaloo · 06/01/2014 09:20

Thanks, Foxeym that makes sense, I looked again and it said in tiny print that was from now until 5th April but because it was the 5th Jan yesterday it was exactly four months and I was wondering if it was a four month payment... I get it more now!

It's definitely confusing though!

I will give them a ring when I get closer to having DC as it's too far away now, but I was just wondering really Smile
