Sore boobs and Pregnancy- what are your experiences?

I don't really think it is that likely I am pregnant, but thought this might be the best place to ask this question. I have 1 DC already, 6yo, but have forgotten everything! We are not actively preventing pregnancy but there are medial reasons why it is unlikely to have happened yet.

I am very susceptible to my hormones normally- my cycles are fairly irregular and my boobs are always changing size throughout. Sometimes they are sore for a few days then this goes away. Not normally sore during my period.

I am currently due my period anytime over next few days. For the last three days my boobs have been VERY tender- much more than normal. As in, I couldn't bear to have anything near them. Today, they are less sore and from that I expect that my period will start shortly, but got me thinking that with pregnancy, how long do the very sore boobs last? I know it must vary lots but that agonising early soreness?

Obviously if AF doesn't come I will eventually test but am in no rush due to a history of chemical pregnancies.

Mine weren't really sore early on; just heavier and a bit tingly around the nipples. I don't think they really got sore till at least 6 weeks, though at times since then they've been a lot worse than at other times for no apparent reason!

I was trying to get pregnant for months before getting a bfp and for months i was obsessively checking my nipples to see what colour they were and if they were getting darker as had heard that's a 'classic' pregnancy symptom. Never happened! However while they had gotten slightly bigger (like you they fluctuate during my cycle) my nipples became so unbelievably sensitive I would actually cry. Before I knew I was pregnant I was on holiday in Chicago and was stood with my husband waiting to meet friends at the tribune building in floods of tears because of it, having landed 3 hours earlier and been up for 22 hours by this point we thought it was a combination of jet lag and it being a bit cold (it was 24 degrees :s )

Positive test 2 weeks after I got home, having spent 12 days in Chicago and New York with 12 friends drinking my weight in cocktails everyday - whoops!

I didn't really get sore boobs with 1st DC but I have had really sore ones in this one. I don't think it started till about 6-7 weeks though, but obviously everyone is different.
