Usually not before 40 weeks but they carry risks.

Generally it is about the 40 weeks. My midwife offered to do sweeps earlier-as the hospital I'm booked into has a policy of inducing all mothers of 40 on their EDD...She seen my very unimpressed face ( I actually thought she was joking...wff?!).

This baby is breech so sweeps aren't a concern now!

So can your midwife do them from full term? Xxxx

Yes, I suppose, but triggering labour before your baby is ready can mean a prolonged labour with baby in not optimal position making it also more painful. Also risks of infection and of waters breaking either then or soon after further limiting baby's ability to turn to better position.

IME less is more... The less meddling by hcps the better!!

I'm really struggling with what I consider the intrusion of hcps with this pregnancy. Literally im praying & pleading with this baby to turn to avoid a c/s.

Here they won't offer a sweep until you are at least 41 weeks
