Mucus plug loss at 31 weeks.

After visiting loo this morning, I believe I lost my mucus plug. It was a huge, sticky, gooey, yellowy blob on toilet paper when I wiped.

Phoned hospital. Antenatal woman said, "that doesn't usually happen at 31 weeks". Transferred me to triage and was told some women lose their plugs weeks before labour.

So, how soon after you lost your plug did layout commence?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I lost part of my plug at 25 weeks and went on to have my baby at term.

I replied on your other thread. I lost mine at 32 weeks and had baby at 40+8.

I lost some around 36 weeks but had a full term pregnancy and lost a lot more during labour.

i lost mine weeks before due date and ended up being induced at 42wks.

the mucus plug will regenerate/body forms a new one.

so unless you start having contractions/waters break etc losing your plug on its own doesnt mean much.

you'll probably be fine, its not all that uncommon and plug can regenerate.

BUT. This exact thing happened to me at 32 weeks, waters broke about 24 hours later and ds2 ended up being born at 34 weeks (he was in scbu for a while but is fine now).

Just keep an eye out for any trickling waters/feeling crampy or unwell etc. Try not to worry, chances are all will be fine x

(But get your bag ready just in case!)

Mine went at 32 and a half weeks and

I then had the baby soon after but I was high risk and it wasn't really a surprise.
I understand they can regenerate usually.

(Sorry the post split into two)

Thank you all for your replies.

Well, baby's stayed put. I've had a few Braxton Hicks, but I've had these for a few weeks now, so, fingers crossed plug will regenerate and I carry her to term!

Thanks again.
