Congratulations!
No personal experience, but loads of people say having them close together is a good plan, you never quite get out of baby mode so going back in isn't another culture shock all over again...I hope that makes sense!

There were only 17 months between my sister and I and we grew up really close. Mum always said she was glad she did it close together. There are 20 months between my two boys, and I'm glad we did it this way too - I'm getting all the sleepless bit out of the way in one go Grin

Congratulations!

Thank you. I always wanted a close age gap as there's a 13 year gap between my eldest boy and baby. Just we said when he was a year. But guess this is what happens when u don't use nothing haha. I also only have one tube as had an ectopic pregnancy 3 months before I conceived my baby boy and to be honest we prob only do it twice a month but it only takes one lucky shot haha. I'm pleased just wish I felt the same as with my baby did muppethecow fill the same with both pregnancys when u found out is how I fill normal lol x

My little boy is 10 months and I'm 5 weeks pregnant so a similar gap to you. I'm really excited, didn't think we'd be lucky enough to get pregnant after just two months of trying. I'm just keeping everything crossed to get to 12 weeks and then I'll feel more excited and comfortable (and start planing what the hell we're going to do lol)
Congratulations on your pregnancy Grin

Thank you. I'm wondering whether it's because we tried for 2 years then fell and lost it which tore me apart we then fell with my boy a few months later. He was so so wanted for so so long and we never thought we would get there after the ectopic but we did he was our lil miracle. I no I'll love this bubs just as much as I do my boy and I'm sure once I've had my first scan it will all seem more real. I go to the lol still expecting a period so don't think it's even sunk in that I'm pregnant yet hehe x

I was really pleased that we fell pregnant again when we did (about 6 months ttc) as it took well over a year for DS1. I'd been braced for months of disappointment so when it happened I was ridiculously excited Grin

People always say you'll be more relaxed with your 2nd, but I was actually more nervous. I had really bad SPD with DS1 and was really worried how I'd manage with a toddler if it came back. It did, and the answer was to let CBeebies do far more 'babysitting' than usual!

I think what you're feeling is pretty normal!

I have 13.5 months between my eldest. Hard for the first few years, a dream now at 9 and 10! Congratulations!

Alexchallex · 05/01/2014 18:58

Same. 6 wks preg. Baby is nearly 9 months

Cannotbelieveit · 05/01/2014 19:56

I'm 24+1 with DS2 and DS1 is 9 months old! It will be a 12 month age gap. I'm looking forward to seeing their relationship as they grow up together

RaRa1988 · 05/01/2014 20:00

Just out of interest - I'm only 17wks with my first so by no means in the same boat as you guys - but what happens with regard to maternity leave and pay from work if you have two close together? Do you have to be back at work for a certain length of time between babies to qualify for full maternity pay?

Cannotbelieveit · 05/01/2014 21:27

I phoned up my hr and they told me my qualifying weeks for mat pay would be November December so I decided to go back in December (so I'd had 9 months off) and will be going off again in mid February. I will still get my mat pay

Clobbered · 05/01/2014 21:29

11.5 months gap. No regrets. Enjoy no2!

This is my dilemma is work at youth offending I had a contract but 0 hours have bin lucky that I had 30 a week for 3 years but no there is not even close to them hours for me I'll be looking at 3 hours a day which ain't enough at all. I've started looking for another job but going to find it hard as when in due back I'll be about 8/9 weeks who wants to employ someone for a few months. I've considered signing on which I hate the fact of as I have never had to do so. But truly wanted to stay of for a year with my boy anyway and even more so now.

I think financially I've worried which has prob took away some of the excitement but have told some fam members ( can't keep my mouth shut) and there all really happy. Me mother in law lives next door so I no she will be a great support when I'm tired and me dad visits a lot so on the whole I'm a lucky girl.

Omg I'm having another baby hehe SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

Please all believe I have no regrets I will love this baby as much as I love my 13 and 8 1/2 month old just felt sad that the excitement was not the same from the start. Xxx

Congratulations! I have 11 months (unplanned! ) between my two DS' s.
The first couple of years were hard with joint teething and lack of sleep but they are so close and best friends. They are even in the same school year so everyone thinks they are twins!
I haven't regretted it once and it's lovely to see them together and a huge bonus is no jealousy which some of my friends with bigger gaps have struggled with
You will be fine Smile
