I think around 8 weeks but I was consumed with the bloat from really early on so it all kind of merged together.

VoodooChimp · 04/01/2014 10:29

Someone asked me if I was pregnant when I was just 5 weeks. So straight away Blush But it was obviously bloat rather than baby.

talulahbelle · 04/01/2014 10:30

11 weeks today, and literally in the last couple of days I have stopped waking up with my normal flat stomach :)

PenguinsDontEatKale · 04/01/2014 10:40

Think not until around 10 weeks or so with no. 1, but earlier with the subsequent.

firstbaby01 · 04/01/2014 10:41

im 12+2 and i havent been able to wear my normal jeans since about 8 weeks. before my belly looked like i had eaten way too many mince pies but its starting to look sort of bump like now Smile

Mine looks perfect and still in skinny jeans. I hope that's not a bad sign... 9 weeks

greentshirt · 04/01/2014 10:52

Mine hasn't thickened really either , much to my MILs disappointment as as soon as she found out she was gagging for it to happen! Still got hips, waist and additional beach ball at 26 weeks

Banana79 · 04/01/2014 11:31

Didn't notice a difference until week 13/14. How did you get on eurochick?

eurochick · 04/01/2014 11:48

The scan was all ok, thanks banana. I'm still terribly nervous though and can't quite believe it is real!

Hmm, if all goes well, I will be speaking at a conference at about 10 weeks. My suits are all closely tailored. I already have plenty of bloat (probably from too many mince pies). Hmmm.

I bloated within the first month and it was more noticeable after me dropping down to a size 6 prior to pregnancy! Past few weeks my bump has hardened, my bums gone bigger and the top of my legs - I love my new curves Smile

beckylouise91 · 04/01/2014 12:03

Saying that I'm 18 weeks and only this week have stopped wearing my size 8 skinny jeans ... And I wore cropped tops up until about 12 weeks and at 15 weeks still weighed 8 stone, so I can't really complain!! But weight gain/stretch marks don't bother me I'm young I can bounce back after which I'm sure I will once I have a baby and a house to look after

MrsPatMustard · 04/01/2014 12:30

Pretty much from the word go - but this was largely hormonal bloat. Earliest bit of baby belly started to happen around about 11/12 weeks.

theborrower · 04/01/2014 13:17

This time around I went into mat trousers at 9 weeks because I felt so bloated and my other clothes were uncomfy. I'm 14 weeks now. Some days I look enormous, others I look just slightly thicker. Damn bloating. It doesn't help that i have IBS and I've been crap at resisting chocolates over Christmas. It's not a defined bump but I definitely look podgier :-(

Flixy102 · 04/01/2014 13:23

From the front I still have a defined waist at 23 weeks (I'm not slim by any means but have wide hips) but I definitely filled out the other way from about 8-9 weeks and couldn't tolerate my normal fitted trousers as they seemed to dig in when I sat down.

Shellywelly1973 · 04/01/2014 14:07

Op . i managed to keep my currant pg a secret til 16 weeks. Normally I'm a size 8. This is dc6. I would invest in good supportive but not tight under wear.

Underwear is my secret to looking a lot better then I really do...especially post natel!

Applesauce29 · 04/01/2014 14:34

Nearly 11 weeks and most of my clothes don't fit. (I had put on some weight whilst ttc as I was underweight). Still 8s 4lbs and quite rounded stuck out belly. Think some of it is bloat tho! Think I'll need to start looking at maternity clothes soon, tho the ones I have seen so far look awful...

eurochick · 04/01/2014 17:59

Interesting. There is a lot of variation. I guess I am going to have to wait and see on the suit front. Control underwear won't be happening shelley - the conference is in a hot country and the suit alone will be bad enough.

I'm surprised at the number of people saying it hasn't happened at all - I've always been able to spot early pregnancy in colleagues and friends before they announce based on their waists! And I seem to have a fair old bloat going already.

I was fine in my normal trousers up to about 16 weeks, just about fitting into my less snug ones to about 20 weeks. Still have a waist (40 weeks tomorrow) if viewed from behind, just a big bump in front now!

Tea1Sugar · 04/01/2014 18:17

I was a bloated whale in the first trimester! I have IBS though so that was my excuse. Now 24+4 with big beach ball bump but still got a small waist and hips. Second baby, dunno if it makes a difference

PenguinsDontEatKale · 04/01/2014 18:49

I had this with suits.

With trouser suits, a loose top and a hairband through the trousers often works. You can sometimes do the same thing at teh back with skirts.

PenguinsDontEatKale · 04/01/2014 18:51

p.s Glad your scan went well! Might be worth updating Armadale's hand holding thread as I think a few people are waiting to hear how you got on.

eurochick · 04/01/2014 19:34

Thanks Penguins. I will go and find it.
