I'm 36+2 and all of a sudden my legs, ankles and feet are all swollen. They have literally doubled in size over the past few days. I've never had thin legs anyway but my god, please tell me they will go soon!?! They are starting to hurt now and it's so uncomfortable. :(

Have you had your blood pressure and urine checked in the last few days? I'm sure it 's fine but sudden swelling can be a symptom of pre-eclampsia so I would probably call my midwife just to be on the safe side.

You have my full sympathy - I swelled up like a balloon. Take some comfort from the fact you can look forward to some highly satisfying wees once baby's born though! Grin

Yeah I had an appointment on Monday and all was fine with bp and urine. I just feel like a massive balloon. This is my first and I've had it pretty easy up to now so though I was gonna sail through to the end. Ha silly me! Still can't sleep at night either but could sleep all day if Had the option. Never knew it would be this weird.

I've resulted in sitting on the recliner as someone said to keep my feet elevated. Doesn't help that the cat won't shift off my lap either!

Well not long to go now - at least you're on the home straight!

I really don't want to be a scaremonger but did you have the swelling on Monday? PE can come on really quickly - I was seeing midwife daily towards the end of my PG, one day all was okay, the next I was on antenatal ward and delivered day after that.

kaatieexox · 04/01/2014 04:27

No don't think I had the swelling on Monday. And if so it weren't this bad. Will have to ring in a few hours see what she says. Thanks for the advice. Smile

That's good. It's more than likely nothing to worry about, but better to be sure.

Enjoy the rest of your PG (with feet up!) and all the best for the birth and beyond Smile

Oh you have my sympathies op. I've swelled up when pregnant in warm weather but never too much in winter... OMG! This time it came on over night at 32 weeks.

I'm now 36 +4. My legs, feet & hands are hideous! my ds said I look like I'm made from play dough!

I'm normally a size 8...I feel like a blimp:-(

kaatieexox · 04/01/2014 21:49

It looks like I have 4 knees! I just keep thinking it will all be worth it when LO is here. OH keeps laughing at the size of my feet and it's making me mad!!

Hi op, i have a friend who was the same with her pgs, her feet were so big and swollen she had to wear trainers two sizes bigger with laces undone towards the last few weeks. Im one of the lucky ones that has not the misfortune to get any swelling in either of my pgs and touch wood so far 30 weeks into pg 3 and have not had any. You have my sympathies tho cos i know how uncomfortable my friend found it!
