Hello, for those of you on your 2nd or more, Can you tell me if the labour was shorter/easier than the 1st.

My 1st went well but I started at 4pm, went to hospital at midnight and delivered at 2.30pm the following day. I was beyond shattered as the night prior I was having cramps and up all night thinking its coming..!!

A friend of mine had her third and was done with in a few hours, another friend barely made it to hospital with her second. My mum said she just made it with me but I think she was being stubborn about going to hospital lol.

Hell yeah. First one was a four day drama fest.

Second, 3 hours start to finish.

IamInvisible · 03/01/2014 19:52

My first one started on the Monday and I delivered at 00:32 on the Wednesday.

Second one I had the first contraction at 12:00 in the car as we pulled into the hospital car park. DS2 was born at 12:20 when my waters broke.

I only went to hospital because it was Christmas Eve and I wasn't feeling well, so wanted checking. Just as well I did.

Interesting thread. OP - hope you dint mind me adding a question - is it also common to have a quicker second birth if you had an EMCS first time round due to failed induction?

2kidsintow · 03/01/2014 20:02

Much quicker here.

DD1 - 6am til midnight.

DD2 - 3 hours. I wouldn't say it was easier though, as it felt a lot more out of control as it was much quicker.

Yes quicker second time round . In hospital at 12.45 , baby delivered 3.04 , home by 9pm .

bakingtins · 03/01/2014 20:28

7 hours first time.
2 hours second time and barely made it to hospital.
Bit worried about no 3.....

mummy1973 · 03/01/2014 20:41

17 hours with DS1, about 6 of it really hurting, 9 hours with DS2 and only about 3 hours of real pain that time..good luck! Grin
