With both my DC I had one day of feeling sick but that was the same day as a job interview so could have been partly nerves. I'm 6 to 8 weeks depending on if you go with what i think or the midwife that phoned me! anyway past few days have felt sick this morning baby obviously didn't like the cuppa i had i'm now worrying as twins run in DH's family and I've been a bit achy like before period arrives the past few days to and i don't remember that this early with the other two anyone been through similar?

Don't worry, twins run through the maternal line (anyone can have identicals, but fraternal twins are caused by double ovulation).

I was convinced I had twins this time as second pg, felt everything really early and felt like a double whammy, but just the one in there Grin

Congratulations!

I have found out I am having dcda twins . Twins run in my mum side family and they are girl and a boy. It is my first pregnancy and I found out positive when 2--3 weeks pregnant but I started to have sore boobs a week before positive test . So so tired and sleepy all the time .

I had horrendous morning sickness from around weeks 6 until the week I gave birth (34 weeks). Not once did twins enter my mind, despite my grandmother having fraternal twins.

My twins are now 15 months old.

As previous poster has said, twins on the fathers side of the family have nothing to do with you double ovulating.

As others have said, non-identical twins come from double ovulation, which is passed down the maternal line. Identical twins are completely random.
