Heart racing early pregnancy?

Hello everyone :)

Have just had a BFP - completely unplanned but not unexpected!! have not been careful enough. This is my first pregnancy. I'm only about 5 weeks.

One of my symptoms appears to be a faster heart rate than usual and I'm wondering is this normal? I do suffer from anxiety so I know I'm extra sensitive but it's been 100-110bpm all day and iv felt it racing the past couple of weeks too randomly.

I'm 23, no known medical problems and have had a clear ECG/Echo cardiac tests a year ago relating to anxiety

Any input greatly appreciated :)

It's normal to have a slightly increased heart rate in pregnancy because of the extra blood in your body.

Mine's always around 100, which often scares medical professionals :o

Congratulations on your BFP.

I get breathless quickly & putting it down to faster heart rate, I'm nearly 6 weeks, otherwise fit & healthy, seems to be the norm. If anxiety might cause issues prob best to let doc know when you go, come join the Sept thread in ante natal :)
Congrats!!
