Protein in urine, normal bp 37 weeks?

Just back from my midwife appointment and I have some protein in my urine although my BP is normal.

From your experiences, what does this mean? She is sending sample away to be checked and I have another appointment to see her next week again.

Sometimes it can be a contaminated sample, sometimes it can be a sign of a urine infection, sometimes its just an anomaly and wont be there next time your urine is dipped.

This happened to me. Not sure if it is any indicator, but 12 hours after the appointment my waters went and about 1 and a half days after that I had a baby!

My MW toldme that if you have a bit of discharge it can show as protein in your wee so you should wipe before peeing.
Is she keeping an eye on you now?

Also 37 weeks and almost always had protein in urine with normal BP, everytime they send it away for further analysis and has came back fine. Eventually they said it could be if you aren't getting the sample mid-stream which as I have been peeing into a plastic cup then decanting into the sample bottle it technically wasn't. Since finding that out samples have came back fine, shame it took them to 34 weeks to tell me!

Hopefully mine will be ok in that case! She has sent today's sample away and I have to go back to see her again next week. I have been feeling a bit under the weather so potentially could be a uti
