How likely is it for 2nd baby to come early if 1st was?

My first baby came at 37wks does anyone know what the chances are of the second baby also being early??
I can't find any studies to suggest this is the case.

I have no idea on the states, but my dc1 came at 37 +3 and my dc2 came at 36 +6. So both around 3 weeks early. Dc3 came only a few days early though.

DS1 was 5 days early 40 hour labour, DS2 was 8 days late and a 12 hour labour, although only 2.5 hours established to delivery! was also half a lb lighter! so very different!! good luck!!!

DS was born at 38+3
DD was born at 40+4

The last two weeks seemed very long

Ds was born at 38+5, and I'm currently 38 weeks. I'm hoping it happens soon.

ds1: 1 week early
ds2: 4 weeks early
dd1: 10 days early
ds3: 10 days late
ds4: 3 days late
dd2: 1 day early.

DC2 was born 37+3. DC3 and 4 were both born exactly on their due date. DC5 was born about 5 days after due date.

Dc1: 38+5
DC2: 40+15

DC1: 37+1

My first born was late. So, I asked the consultant about the likelihood of second born being late.

His reply was that there are no hard and fast rules but a betting man goes on the form.

Second born was late.

Thanks for all messages, doesn't look like there is much of a pattern, and they tend to come when they are ready :( I'm not very good at this waiting lark!!

I know two people who had their first at 37 weeks. Both had no2 at 40.

First was 37+6 and I'm currently 40+3 and she's still not here xx

#2- 12 days late
#3- 3 days early
#4- 7 days early

I really hope there is no patter, feeling a little anxious you could say. Currently 18+2 woth number 2.

I think it's harder because you're anticipating it from before your earliest date. I've had enough. Harumph. Harumph.

Currently 36 weeks pg w DC3, who I decided wd come early, prob any time from 35+1, but no sign yet. Not helped by midwives and consultant all agreeing I'd probably have an early arrival. I've never had the countdown thing before ( both times I spent half my labour arguing that I couldn't be having a baby yet, as it was too early).
I was told when pg w no2 that one early arrival doesn't suggest a trend but the HCPs this time seem to believe 2 early ones previously suggest a pattern. So, sorry, that's prob bit v helpful.
