What gets your baby moving??

I'm just interested in hearing any lovely stories about what makes your baby move or is guaranteed to start them wriggling??

One of my cats (a gorgeous black and white boy called Brian) is very taken with my bump and loves lying either draped across it or perched on top of it Grin Within minutes of Brian getting comfy the baby will start going crazy - his movements increase and speed up and it happens without fail. Sometimes I pick Brian up and plonk him on me purely because I want to feel the baby Grin I'm thinking that maybe baby likes the purrs? I'm guessing little vibrations may pass through my stomach and into the womb?

I have a lovely image of Brian and baby being best of friends when he's born Grin

aw that's sweet Grin
It might sound far fetched but when DH and I talk about the baby or if i'm sitting thinking about him and wondering what he'll look like etc he'll start jumping about and kicking. I feel like he knows i'm thinking of him. This might sound daft but I like it Grin
oh and as soon as I go to bed he starts wriggling. little bugger.

He very, very rarely stops. DS1 was the same, and still doesn't sleep now Grin

He's particularly lively when I eat biscuits though.

Having a cold drink or lying on my back.

As soon as dh puts his hand on my tummy to have a feel though, he usually stops moving!

Haha dobedo, same here. If im ever getting a good kicking I ask DH to have a feel then its a guaranteed break for me!

DP would always get a wiggle from ds!! It was how I knew something was wrong when ds wouldn't move for dp!

Dd 2.3 blowing raspberries on my tummy, singing and talking to 'George' pig her little brother, who actually happens to be a little sister, lets hope Dd's not too disappointed in four months time. Hmm

I have a major 'thing' about raspberries being blown!! I really hope it isn't something I have to come across once baby is born... Grin

orange juice or oranges.

9 times out of 10, DH's hand will stop baby wriggling. I'm really hoping he has the same calming effect when baby is out!

Food! Always when I eat something. Now I need to do some more experimenting and see what its favourite foods are. So far chocolate seems to be a winner so I will obviously have to eat more of it.

Me going to bed...Was nice and settled all day yesterday, I went to bed about midnight at which point the little bugger woke up and kicked me constantly in the ribs until 4am. At one point I had a sharp intake of breath because of the pain and woke up my husband who thought I had gone into labour (38 weeks tomorrow!)

When I was pg ice cream always got my son moving. Of course, this meant me suffering the hardship of eating lots of ice cream purely to check that he was still ok. I was a devoted mother even then.

Food and drink (esp porridge for some reason), relaxing, being somewhere really quiet (bump seems to time really hard rib kicks that make me squeal at embarrassing moments).

Dh has also invented a fun new game where he taps/strokes/tickles the bump and sets it off. It's quite sweet to see him get excited about 'playing with the baby'. Until he rolls over and goes straight to sleep while the bump wriggles into the wee small hours Envy

At ante natal yoga classes we would have 30 mins of deep relaxation at the end of the class. All the affirmations about a "relaxed baby floating in my womb" really used to get DS going- he'd be going nuts whilst we were supposed to be chilling- it always made me giggle. He's only 12 days old and still keeps on womb time- he's at his most active at the same times as when he was inside me!

When I'm breastfeeding the 3.5yr old, baby often comes and starts wriggling against her. Not sure if it feels the warmth of her or it's trying to kick her out of the way!

Me being relaxed! First thing in the morning and from the early evening onwards he or she is active (23 weeks).

Also if OH shines a torch on a certain part of my bump, the baby will chase it and we can see the kicks happening wherever the torch is shining Grin

since baby started 'breaking through' on new years theyv been woken up by touching tummy and me being laid down quiet (so no sleep for me at the moment).
Im currently stressed and i can feel baby.. Its nice actually because its kinda calming..
