How long do u think before labour? I'm 38+4 and saw midwife a few days ago who said baby is engaged, it possibly won't be long and in my notes she wrote 3/5 engaged!

Every day since I've just felt a bit on edge, I can't seen to relax but I also know it could possibly be a few more weeks yet, anyone else have any idea??

Not an indicator of labour in my experience. Ds1 4/5 for two weeks before labour and was 10 days late.

Ds2 was 'free' and came 10 days early. Hope you don't have too much longer to wait. :)

3/5 engaged means thr midwfie can feel 3/5 of babies ehsd so tis actually 2/5 engaged in yoru pelvis.

How engaged or not the baieshead is doesnt mean much tbh! They can bob in and out of the pelvis and many babies dint engage fully until you are in labour.

Hate to say it I was 3/5 engaged with DS at 38 weeks on the Monday. By the ELCS on the Thursday he was breech......Smile - think they pop in and out tbh! X

Yup. I've bed. 3/5th 4/5th back to. 2/5th the free the back to 3 /5 th engaged etc. I'm now 12 days over due and getting induced! So I don't think I'd use it as an indicator of labour if that makes sense.
Good luck though. Hope something happens soon xx

Thanx for replies, it's made me relax abit more hearing that, I can't wait to meet this baby but I'd rather not know when it's gonna come just take it a bit at a time... Labour is a scary thought but it has to be done xx

Baby was free on all my midwife checks. I don't think he engaged until I had him. Had him 4 days late which isn't too bad compared to a lot of people. So no indication of labour IMO
