Feel huge with 2nd baby!

I'm only 15 weeks but I'm the same size I was at 20 weeks with DC1. I've raced straight past the bloated/big lunch look to looking obviously pregnant. Does this mean it'll be a huge baby?!

Anyone else experience this?

I think it is really normal with second babies to be bigger, at least I hope so!

BazilGin · 31/12/2013 22:58

Yes, yes, yes! I am 16 weeks and feel big and uncomfortable already. With my first, I didn't have a bump until at least 20 weeks.
I am much bigger now and also feel more frumpy because of that. I started looking into getting maternity clothes again. Sigh...

Sid77 · 31/12/2013 23:04

I was big early with my second, by the end I was the same as with the first, my bump just came out quicker!

It probably just means your abs aren't what they were.

I'm already showing with DC2 and I'm only 10 weeks! Going to be massive at this rate.

schmalex · 01/01/2014 06:45

I'm humungous. In December I kept getting asked if I was having a Christmas baby and he's not due til the end of March...

I think the rest of me is thinner though, it's just the bump that is huge.

HappyAsASandboy · 01/01/2014 07:09

I'm sorry to say it is because your abs are shot from last time Grin

Last time, your unstretched abs held everything in and firm. This time, they have no strength and have let everything pop out early.

I suppose you should take solace in the fact that most women long for their bump to come during their first pregnancy :)

IAmTheOneWhoKnocks · 01/01/2014 07:19

I have to say I had no abs in the first place so I'm not missing much! That's reassured me a bit though, was panicking that I'm further along than I thought. The good thing about being pregnant at Christmas is you can let it all hang out and not have to worry Grin

I was thinking about the possibility of twins before my 12 week scan. It was as if my body changed upon implantation. It seems to be slowing a bit now (30 weeks) or maybe I've just got used to it being so huge. 2 weeks ago it was measuring on the 90th centile, but I tend to take those measurements with a pinch of salt anyway.

merlin21 · 01/01/2014 09:14

I'm now 37 weeks and was showing by 12 weeks. Didn't really show until much later with my first. Think its quite common after seeing my friends the same. Feel enormous now! I've actually only put a few pounds more on so I keep telling myself its a bit of an optical illusion!

Tea1Sugar · 01/01/2014 09:31

I started showing at 9 weeks with this one! With dd1 I had no bump until 17 weeks. Now 24 weeks with dc2 and no word of a lie, I'm growing a hippo.

Missmidden · 01/01/2014 18:08

Same here! With DC1 I was so worried about the lack of a bump that I measured my abdomen at various stages. I found the measurements a while ago and I was the same at 9 wks this time I was at 16 wks first time round! Thankfully it doesn't seem to have grown too alarmingly from that point as I have another week til I intend to tell work, but I think anyone barring the visually impaired will have long since guessed.

BringOn2014 · 01/01/2014 18:26

Oh my gosh I feel so huge already, 11 weeks with number 3 and feel Im as big as I was at 20 weeks with DD2.
With DD1 I didnt show till 22 weeks, DD2 about 18 weeks but feel like this one is really obvious already!
Im seeing inlaws at the weekend and not ready to tell them yet so I will be wearing slimming clothes and lots of talk of overdoing it at christmas I think!
