Hi

I need ideas for things i cant really pack in my bag yet but will need.

E.g. Phone charger
Camera (Still using it quite often)

If we have to leave in a rush I'm thinking it would be handy to have a list to grab things and go but my mind is blank.

Any ideas?

Notes!!

Flickstar · 31/12/2013 18:18

Make up, hair brush, book/kindle, cold drinks/food from fridge

HoHoHopelessAtNamingBabies · 31/12/2013 18:18

Toothbrush if you're not packing a fresh one.

Fresh fruit?

HoHoHopelessAtNamingBabies · 31/12/2013 18:19

Thanks Flickstar - I am overdue and haven't packed a brush! Trying to travel light after really overpacking for DD1!

woodlandwanderwoman · 31/12/2013 18:24

Your maternity notes book (orange here) mine lived in bag but if you are seeing mw don't forget to put it back

LittleH78 · 31/12/2013 18:29

I would keep phone/camera plugged in at home - and then take in fully charged. We've been told we won't be able to plug anything in at the hospital as they have to be PAT tested by the Trust...so don't rely on being able to charge while you are there (although may be different where you are!)

PenguinsDontEatStollen · 31/12/2013 18:55

Camera, phone, charger (if permitted), notes, drinks, brush, any toiletries which you aren't taking in new, ditto make up, fresh snacks.

Car seat if it isn't already in the car.

I echo the important things above. I wouldn't have coped without the jelly babies Grin

Legalbaby79 · 31/12/2013 21:08

Lucazode and smarties my mid wife swears by them both to help labour and keeping it going Shock lol x

Thurlow · 31/12/2013 21:14

Toothpaste, hairbrush, charger and food. Oh, and your handbag!

Flickstar · 31/12/2013 21:18

Thought of another one, your slippers (If you wear them, I'd be lost without mine!)

summerlovingliz · 31/12/2013 21:22

Change for car park and clean t, deo and toothbrush for other half, mine had to go 2 whole days without!

FayKnights · 31/12/2013 21:24

Tea bags and flip flops (for the shower). Good luck!

PenguinsDontEatStollen · 31/12/2013 21:28

But loads of these are things you can put in the bag from the off aren't they Confused Can't you pack flip flops and change and stuff now rather than last minute?

Take the point about slippers though. Mine are in use until the last minute!

I can't live without hair straighteners....odd question but who packed them too?? Blush

beccic123 · 01/01/2014 11:17

Money! For car park and vending machines, pregnancy notes, phone and charger but charger not usually allowed, food and drinks, hair bobble!! One thing I forgot and it's all I wanted when was in labour. X

EmB1715 · 01/01/2014 13:52

Seriously... notes!! We got them out of the bag to find the number to call labour ward and forgot them! Midwives not very pleased and had to call DH's Mum to go and get them at 3am!

PenguinsDontEatStollen · 01/01/2014 14:01

blonde- very much doubt that you would be allowed to plug in straighteners anywhere on a ward. Health and safety nightmare! Smile

blondebaby111 · 01/01/2014 17:14

As you can tell I've never stayed in hospital!! It was just a thought lol! X

Perspective21 · 01/01/2014 17:19

Definitely start collecting a stash of coins, in most hospitals the cafés etc look like they take cards but so many times a little post it note informs you it's cash only at the moment! Handy for vending machines for your partner/visitor to nip for chocolate etc. Also WRVS shops very handy and like cash.

PenguinsDontEatStollen · 01/01/2014 17:21

No worries Blonde. Hair bobble a better bet though. Or a hatGrin

Perspective21 · 01/01/2014 17:22

Pre pack as much as possible, then find a lovely list that you agree with their items, then copy onto a big, daft coloured piece of card and stick it out the top of the bag. Then just before you set off, get the last minuters!

PervyMuskrat · 01/01/2014 17:24

Glasses or contact lenses (and solution) if you need them

OhCaptainDarling · 01/01/2014 18:50

Arnica tablets..!
