post-miscarriage, things do not feel right down there

Hi, I am about a month post-miscarriage. I was 4 months pregnant.

(bit graphic below, don't read if squeamish.)

I decided to do it naturally but ended up being admitted to hospital and having everything pulled out in the emergency room while I was fully conscious. Not much fun.

I have been for follow-ups and they say it's all out and there's no infection, but things are just not right down there at all. It smells, not infected, but just musky.. sweaty, I suppose. I have a constant flow of discharge all the time (clear, like water) which soaks my pants within an hour.

Doctors can find nothing wrong. Is this common?

I'm not too sure. Did they scan you to make sure everything was taken?

Hi. I had a miscarriage at 4 months too back in September. My 4th pregnancy and my first miscarriage. Horrendous wasn't it.

I did birth naturally after having a pessary in hospital. However I had no after care at all which I think is bad. I bled off and on for 8 weeks. Sometimes the smell was a bit iffy! I didn't go to the doc but wish I did because now my periods although regular are different than before..... Bleed for 5 days then stop and start two layers for an hour. Very odd. Now trying for a baby and having no luck yet which I find frustrating as always conceived first time with the others. Lucky I know.

Anyway it makes me wonder whether there is/ was a problem and I wish now I had seen a doc so please please go! X

Go back is what I meant! Go back to docs! X

Have you had your hcG levels checked?

Could well be some retained products that need to be removed.

Sorry you are going through this.

Go back. Insist that things aren't right. I had this after losing a pg at 14 weeks and again after the D&C that was supposed to put it all 'right'. Both times there were retained products, which had become infected. The second time, the stuff that was left had started to rot (sorry) and stank to high heaven when it started to come out. HCPs aren't always right.
