I'm currently 8 weeks and I can't move or I am sick... When did everyone else start to feel a little better?

I have to say the anti sickness bands don't stop sickness but it does ease it, I noticed even at my worst that if I forgot to put them on I would be worse. Now at 24 week I only take them off to have a bath lol they have become part of me lol

JasMumOfFour · 30/12/2013 17:54

I remember mine did stop bang on 14 weeks before, I had read that it should stop around then and it did. I just don't remember it being this bad. I feel an utterly useless wife and mother. The only timeI don't feel sick is laying down

Severely sick from 8 - 14 weeks and in meds from GP as was throwing up everything I ate.

Eased off at 14weeks...

Completely gone by 18 weeks... And the relief and joy at being able to eat again was a feeling I will never forget!

randdom · 30/12/2013 18:16

I was very sick from 6-15 weeks. Started to ease then. At 18 weeks I am still not 100% but I can now function and I am only vomiting about 1 day in 3 and the all day nausea has gone.

I would advice pushing for anti sickness as it does make a difference.

EeyoreIsh · 30/12/2013 18:16

Mine was still getting worse at 12 weeks, I was so upset. At least at that stage I could tell family and friends I was pregnant so they knew why I felt awful/had disappeared from view.

JasMumOfFour · 31/12/2013 10:41

It seems to get worse by the day :(

Can I highjack this and ask when MS usually starts? I'm 6+5 and have been dry heaving for a week or so but no vomming yet.

PositiveAttitude · 31/12/2013 10:59

30 minutes before labour each time.......5 times over!

EmmaFreudsGivingMeJip · 31/12/2013 11:09

33 weeks and it's still going strong.... no where near as bad as it was weeks 4-16 though. hope you feel better soon.

Kendodd · 31/12/2013 11:11

1st time about 9 months
2nd time about 9 months
3rd time about 9 months

I haven't tried for a 4th.

JasMumOfFour · 31/12/2013 11:16

I can't imagine it going on for 9 months!

Not everyone actually vomits, some don't even get the nausea.

I actually have a phobia of vomiting so, I think I am dying several times a day at the moment

One thing I found about ms vomiting is that you get no relieve from it, you still feel just as sick afterwards, unlike other vomiting when you feel a bit better afterwards.

I was sick just about every day but still managed to get on with life, I had to, when I was having my third I had a one year old and a two year old to look after. I just carried a vomiting kit with me everywhere.

These kind of threads definitely attract people who've had bad experiences. Not belittling that at all - some people go through HELL and I have no idea how you all cope, you are brilliant.

However - some people (stats vary - 10-25% maybe) don't experience morning sickness at all. And NHS say for 9 out 10 people symptoms go by end of first trimester. So don't take the tales of sickness all the way through pregnancy as representative - yes they happen, yes it is clearly awful but most people don't experience this

JasMumOfFour · 31/12/2013 13:18

To be honest, I was hoping most people would sat it peaked at 8-9 weeks, so maybe my body would listen lol

Plateofcrumbs · 31/12/2013 14:08

Definitely started getting better for me after 9 weeks so tell your body it should do the same as mine Smile

JasMumOfFour · 31/12/2013 14:23

At least you have the reassurance that everything is ok in there... Not got my first midwife appointment till nearly 11 weeks, then it will be the scan... hopefully by then I will feel human enough to enjoy being pregnant :)

16 weeks both times

Hellymummy · 31/12/2013 14:42

Still feeling grim now at 17 weeks!!!!! Interesting I seen someone say they debeloped car sickness!! Me too, everytime I go out in car I start heaving!!!!!

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 31/12/2013 14:49

14 weeks last time.

Im 6+6 this time and not even managed to get dressed today. Back to work next Monday and no idea how I'll manage.

I'm lucky as I'm not actually vomiting but the nausea is insane.

JasMumOfFour · 31/12/2013 17:42

The indigestion is no better! I am wondering if pregnant woman can survive on water and gaviscon alone... and constantly beating my chest like a deranged Gorilla

Plateofcrumbs · 31/12/2013 17:59

hellymummy - yes the only time I've actually been sick so far was in the car. Luckily I don't need to drive very much!

MrsPatMustard · 31/12/2013 20:49

About 11 weeks. Remember going to a bar-b-cue at 12 weeks and eating my first decent-sized meal in weeks.

talulahbelle · 31/12/2013 20:59

I'm 10.5 weeks and it's loads better - I only started getting bad at 7 weeks, was awful week 8-9 and I'm hoping it will all be gone soon.

fluffandsnuff · 01/01/2014 17:25

11.5 weeks now. Had been fine for a couple of days- had even left the house voluntarily! Then threw up at a new years party last night and I'm back to sitting around the house in my dressing gown feeling crap.

Once it goes, does it tend to go completely or will it continue to be intermittent? If so, how long? Back to work tomorrow and dreading it.

TwoThreeFourSix · 02/01/2014 19:32

DS1 - sick 5 times a day until 6 months. Then daily. Then weekly. Last time was 5 mins before giving birth.

DS2 (current pregnancy) - started meds at 8 weeks cos I just wasnt coping. Meant I was only sick once a day or every other day. Stopped meds at 20 weeks and am now sick once a dayish (am 22 weeks)

I now have a fun duo of nausea/sickness and heartburn.

I know lots of women who were never sick tho...
