Right! I need an underwired maternity/nursing bra from an actual shop...

Rather than an online store as I need to work out what size I need. Any suggestions gratefully received...

Another vote for Hot Milk nursing bras. Not cheap but really pretty and feel like 'me' in them. Also Elle MacPherson ones which are stocked at John Lewis so you can be measured for one after 37-38 weeks to get sizing right (there should be plenty of room in the cup- I couldn't believe the size of my wammers when my milk came in!!) x

I got my wired ones from Rigby and Peller. V pricey but well worthwhile and they fit me well. So they are out there...

CheeseTMouse · 30/12/2013 10:05

I had a bad experience of "fitting" at Jojo's. They measured me as a B cup for nursing bras. Needless to say that the one I tried didn't fit and going to R&P they fitted me as a G cup and I can get the bra on...!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 30/12/2013 11:57

Thanks guys! Anita looks great and is stocked in my local independent dept store.
I did find a Emma Jane online but being big on fitting and interventions I was disgusted by the pictures on their site! Confused
I'll go away and look up the rest.
I seriously can't think about non wired. The old bazookas HAVE to have lift and separation otherwise I end up with awful intertrigo! There's nothing comfy about fungus in the crevices!! Hmm Confused Shock Grin

another vote for bravissimo here. I have shopped there for ages, and have bought both underwired and soft cup bras for pregnancy depending on what I'm doing/ how I'm feeling. Was blown away when I went back to get an even bigger bra at 16 weeks, because I explained to the assistant that I'd already outgrown the bras I bought 5 weeks early, and she exchanged the one I was wearing for a bigger one free of charge, even though I'd been wearing it for 5 weeks! very impressed with that.

Tomkat are the Secret Fit Jeans on the Motherhood Maternity actually that good?

Tomkat79 · 31/12/2013 02:23

Yes they really are that good. I've battled through the last 3 months so frustrated and then I found these! They are cut really well on the hips and no silly jeans belt loop but so straight into the smooth over bump bit. It's made of like thick tights material...sounds hideous but so stretchy and comfy with no digging in anywhere or extra muffin bits.

Sound keen don't i? Wink

FriendofDorothy · 31/12/2013 05:58

I struggled to find jeans last time, especially in a size 18/20. I am so desperate this time imam considering ordering from the States!

Cariad007 · 31/12/2013 07:55

Can I ask what bra size people wore pre- and post-baby? I'm a 34D/36C depending in the brand and at 33 weeks I'm still wearing my pre-pregnancy bras. So I have no idea how big I will be after my milk comes in! What's the normal increase - a cup size? Two cup sizes?

Tomkat79 · 31/12/2013 08:03

dorothy I'm a 16 and it's been a nightmare! Under bump just isn't an option! Try a L/xl mm pair. Good luck xx

FriendofDorothy · 31/12/2013 08:08

I was a 38DD and now I am a 40FF!

georgie22 · 31/12/2013 08:17

Cariad007 - I was a 34D pre pregnancy and only went up to a 36DD during pregnancy. Think I might be bigger than that now but not hugely so. Hoping that will mean that my boobs won't end up by my waist when I finish bf!!

ClearlyMoo · 31/12/2013 08:28

I'm scared - 34F before pregnancy. Currently 21weeks and 36GG, but I know these bazukas will grow again after birth (if not before) they tend to get sensitive during a growth spurt and have been super sensitive last few days. I just need my lovely Bravissimo bras to fit a bit longer since I forked out £55 for two on 16/12!!

sunflowered · 31/12/2013 08:32

Cariad I was in a 34d pre pregnancy, measured as 34g to f at 18 weeks (another bravissimo fan here) so waiting nervously to see what the damage is when the baby arrives in a few weeks and they grow again - so the suppliers recommended here have been really useful to read about.

Have also found it hard to find maternity clothes that fit properly around ample knockers - even my jojo xmas party dress won't go around them.

MrsHY1 · 31/12/2013 08:37

Cariad007- two cup sizes when the milk comes in is prob about right- however the good thing about nursing bras is how many back clasps they have (6-8) as you will prob find once baby's here that your chest width drops a bit as all your internal organs resume their rightful positions!

Cariad007 · 31/12/2013 08:37

Gosh, am starting to think I'm the only one whose boobs haven't grown! My nipples have got bigger and darker but other than that I'm no bigger than I was before.

BikeRunSki · 31/12/2013 11:20

Mine neither

Souper · 31/12/2013 11:26

I buy normal non maternity under wired bras that fit me properly, and also the cheapest nursing bras in any size I can find on the sale rail. I give the lot to my local seamstress who takes the clips off the nursing bras, adds them plus the extra bit of elastic to keep the straps in place to the bras that fit me and tah-dah!!
