Preeclampsia second pregnancy

Hi
I had severe preeclampsia with my dd who is now 4 and now pregnancy with dc2. I am due to see consultant in a few weeks as had dd prem but am feeling quite scared I will get preeclampsia again, has anyone else had any experiences with second pregnancy good or bad? Thanks x

I had it 2nd time but not as bad as the first time, I didn't need any drugs and only got induced because i was overdue. It was then worse the 3rd time which I think is unusual but also had GD which can make it worse. They were a lot more interested the 2nd time with extra monitoring so be reassured they will be looking out for you!

Hiya, no personal experience but my friend has just had her second after severe pre eclampsia the first time. First was born by c sec at 33wks I think, and her second has just arrived at 35wks (c sec again) and they came home a week later!. She said she was prepared this time, and they kept a very close eye on her, spotting the pe early on.

I'm also really worrying about this. Had a month long hospital stay at end of first pregnancy after briefly losing my sight in one eye dueto pre-e at 34 weeks. So far so good with 2nd, blood pressure still good at 27 weeks but shot up quickly last time and i just cant stop thinking about it. Really can't cope with a long stay in hospital again. Not with a 3 year old at home. :-(

Thanks ladies x can't stop worrying about it, was in hospital about 3 weeks last time myself and my dd is disabled so really don't want to go into hospital as need to be at home and looking after her. Hubby works long hours and what with bills to pay don't really want him to have weeks off work. Am hoping I don't get it this time round. Am seeing the consultant in a few weeks time and will wait to see what he has to say, just didn't know if i was likely to get it again or not. And janem that's what happened to me, no warning my bp just shot up fingers crossed for u too xxx

I had pre eclampsia with my DS, with a couple of stays in hospital before he was born. I was worried throughout my 2nd pregnancy that I would get it again.

I had DD in May and everything was fine no pre eclampsia, any my blood pressure was good throughout. (Apart from when I had BP taken at hospital during routine checks when it raised slightly, but this was more due to the fact i was anxious it would be raised up because I was anxious that it would be raised and kept in hospital.)

Its a weird feeling to worry about something and at tye same time know there's not really much you can do about it. Just gotta go with it I suppose.
