Firstly, you might like to look in MN's Antenatal Clubs setion where you can hook up with people at same sage of pg - who will be able to give a more immediate description of movement.

But IIRC, it was like a fish tail stroking you. Just on the inside.

It felt like tiny little butterflies fluttering around in my tummy. I was about 5 months at that point and could only really feel them properly when I lent over my desk at work.

Anothermrssmith · 27/12/2013 22:36

Flutters at first then for me it was like that twitch you get in your eye when you're tired! Was about 22 weeks before I started getting anything beyond the flutters though.

BelleJolie · 27/12/2013 23:23

My first movements when pregnant with DS felt like someone was lightly tapping me inside. I may have felt flutters before then but was never really sure if they were wind or the baby!

notoneforselfies · 27/12/2013 23:44

mine never felt like butterflies or flutters but more like nudges - like being poked with a knuckle from the inside.

summerbaby2014 · 27/12/2013 23:47

Same for me, being poked by tiny little limbs. I've only bednsure today that it is indeed a kick.

They're a bit uncomfortable, no fishtail strokes for me!

*been sure

Cuckoo82 · 28/12/2013 12:26

Mine felt like little bubbles popping, I'm nearly 23 weeks now and first felt them about 3 weeks ago. Now they are stronger to the extent that my OH has been able to feel a few if I press his hand quite firmly against my bump, although that has only happened a few times.

Steffyjayne23 · 28/12/2013 14:54

Mine felt like popping too at the start! They gradually get stronger and now at 35 weeks it's like a constant pushing rather then the little kicks I got used to without all the room for him to play in there!

Legalbaby79 · 29/12/2013 21:38

Thank you everyoneGrin I am constantly anxious the flutters have died down a bit, but then I convince myself something is wrong - am going to be a nervous wreck by the time baby is here !!!! I have a scan on the 31st and can't blooming wait to see baby again as last him baby was up side down with bum in the air lol
