LEU 3+, BLD trace, PRO trace. What is this likely to be?

Just had routine 28 wk appt and urine sample detected LEU 3+, BLD trace and PRO trace so sample has been sent off for further analysis.

I've had increase in discharge since becoming pregnant and this does seem to have an odour to it. Are these results indicative of an UTI or could it be something more sinister?

Not a medical experts but I've had UTI results like that many times. Think it's leukocytes, blood and protein, and think generally that indicates a UTI.

Have they done a swab? I've had discharge that doesn't smell nice, currently on antibiotics for bacterial vaginosis, lovely Sad but if you have it, it's important to get it treated!!

That's what i was thinking moomin. Midwife was asking questions about thrush, which I don't think I have and said I would probably need a double dose of antibiotics to get rid of it (even though I don't think that's the issue, although what do I know).

She didn't take a swab just sent my urine off to the lab for further analysis. I should have asked how long it would take for the results. Did you have a swab taken after your urine analysis came back from the lab? I hope you feel better soon.

I had my swab at the same time at the doctors as they said thrush, but a couple of days later it got a lot worse and they thought I was showing signs of early labour at 21 weeks. Was taken to the labour ward where they did a speculum (not pleasant but did the job) and was told instantly that I wasn't in labour but had bacterial vaginosis, so I was put straight onto metranidazole there and then.

Try and push for a swab if you can, it'll be worth it

Eek! Doesn't sound the best. I'll definately get in touch with the midwife for a chat and keep an eye out for any symptoms getting worse. Thanks for the heads up!

How long is our course of antibiotics? Have things improved once being on them?

I had that result and it was thrush. The registrar took a swab at the day assessment unit gave me gynodaktatin and it was gone in a few days. Magic stuff.

Hi tea how's things with you? Did you have any thrush symptoms before the diagnosis?

things are definitely improving on the antibiotics :)

Tea1Sugar · 29/12/2013 21:18

Hi! I had loads I mean loads of discharge but no itch or burning etc. how's things with you?

BNmum · 30/12/2013 09:00

Not bad thanks, I've been drinking loads of water and cranberry juice and the level of discharge has definitely reduced. I don't feel itchy or sore. I wonder if having sex disrupted things/increased the level of discharge? I'm going to ring the midwife this morning to find out how long it will take for my results to come through.

Pleased to hear things are improving moomin
