I was a lot more tired in the first trimester with twins compared to my DS but put it down to being older and having a 3 year old to chase after! I also started showing sooner but put that down to it being a 2nd pregnancy. Nausea was the same so never suspected twins. Came as quite a shock at the 12 week scan! Since then the main thing is just how much more tired I am. Last time I felt so much better in the 2nd trimester but this time I'm just exhausted all the time. Other than that (and the nature of the care, i.e. consultant-led) it hasn't been much different. Although I have got breathless sooner as obviously 2 babies take up more space.

Stupid phone!!!!! I'll try again. With first 3 I had little to no symptoms other than sore boobs and first trimester tiredness. 3 very easy pregnancies, I did get bigger with each one.
This time has been completely different with twins. I have never been soooooooo tired and slept so much it's been a shock. I've also had none stop nausea since 5 wks now 15. My belly is huge this time and really struggled to hide it from early on. Should of known something was different but put it down to 4th pregnancy and my age 12 wk scan was a bit of a shock!

Thanks both - slightlyinsane , good luck for rest of your pregnancy. Jammiecat - thanks for your info too , not sure if you still expecting or now given birth? My AF not due to Sunday although have BFP but am feeling like there may be more than one due to symptoms since a week after ovulation ! And seem to be showing or that could be my imagination !

I joked about twins with the few people I'd told I was pregnant but no way did that detract from the 12 wk shock. I won't be joking about things like that again. I'd have a chat with your mw when you have your booking in. If your far enough along and it is twins your uterus may have popped up, looking back id say my bump changed shape around 8/9 wks when mine must have popped up and I forgot to ask mw why I was soooo much bigger.

I've only had single babies but just wanted to add that if this isn't your first pregnancy it could explain some of your symptoms.

With DD (second DC, fourth pregnancy overall) I knew I was pregnant from around five days post conception and was testing every other day because I couldn't shake the feeling. Finally got a BFP at 5wks. I was showing sooner too and my symptoms were all stronger.

Then in this pregnancy I knew virtually straight away again (there is only one possible day I could have gotten pregnant), got a BFP just twelve days after DTD and was throwing up daily a week after that - in previous pregnancies I didn't get sick until 6wks and even then I only felt sick, was only ever actually sick a handful of times. By 7wks pregnant I couldn't fasten my trousers, I had to put an elastic band around the button and through the button hole! I had a little bump and my breasts were like giant, painful rocks. Had a scan at 9+3 and it confirmed just one baby despite me being sure it must be twins due to the mega-symptoms.
