No heartbeat heard at 12 weeks

Well I have really got my knickers in a knot today!!!

I went to the doctors on an unrelated matter and during the course of our conversation I mentioned that I had been anxious about this pregnancy and asked the doc if he would listen to the baby's heartbeat to reassure me prior to my scan at the end of the week.

He tried (with a doppler) and we couldn't hear anything - now I am FREAKING out. I have since spoken to a midwife at our local hospital and she reassures me that it's normal not to hear anything but I seem to remember somebody on this site bought their own doppler and could hear their baby's heartbeat at 10 weeks (maybe my memory is wrong - I hope so)...

I so regret asking now and the next three days are going to be excruciating....

Any reassurance gratefully would be fantastic!

Neither my GP nor my midwife would try and find the heartbeat until 15 weeks as they said it was so usual not to hear anything until then and if they tried and didn't find it, I'd be anxious.

HTH & good luck x
