Tummy ache, day 5. Should I be concerned?

As in, literally stomach pain.. not abdominal cramping or any of that. I know what that feels like.

I think this is the third time now this pregnancy, am now 27 weeks, but it's lasted the longest. I keep having bouts of loose stool and stomach pain. It's a sharpish constant pain in the centre just around the bottom of the ribs - tummy ache basically. And my tummy gurgles lots too, and earlier in the week I had a lot of wind, less so now. The stomach pain is at its worst after eating, sometimes simeticone/antacids help a bit but not always. It's really bad and keeps me awake at night and hurts all day. I've had it since Sunday this time out so this is day 5 with no improvement, hence my concern.

I should add I know it's not heartburn as I had that (well, I would still have it were it not for the omeprazole I take daily since 7 weeks) but I can't help but wonder if there is a connection. This is my fourth DC and I never had heartburn or stomach pain issues in pregnancy before. I don't think it is the extra rich Christmas food as I've not really gone overboard plus it started on Sunday before we started eating anything special.

Anyone else have anything like this or have any ideas? Is it just a mild stomach virus doing the rounds? I don't feel sick or feverish at all. Just nasty stomach pain and feeling a bit exhausted but the latter could be due to pregnancy and so much to do before Christmas.

Normally I'd go see a doctor but it is SUCH a faff right now with Christmas and doctors shut etc, I don't fancy my chances of getting an appointment tomorrow and I'd hate to take an appointment away from somebody who really needed it given the scarcity of them at the moment.

Baby is moving around fine etc.

Well, apparently abdominal pain below the ribs can be one of the symptoms of pre-eclampsia. So I'd ring the labour ward/ midwife/ whoever it is in your area, and see if they're concerned. Probably is nothing but a weird tummy thing though!

Thanks for that! Learn something new every day. Never had any pre-eclampsia concerns before so never knew anything about it beyond swelling/high BP/protein in urine.

I just checked my blood pressure and it's 105/70 which is totally normal for me and I have some of those sticks the midwives have (had them from a previous pregnancy when I was prone to UTIs to give me a heads-up!) and there's no sign of protein spillage or indeed anything else unusual. I don't seem to have any of the other symptoms either aside from generally feeling unwell.

One of the DCs has just reported loose bowels so it probably is just a virus. It just seems to be lasting unusually long!

If I get no improvement by tomorrow I'll try ringing a midwife but the labour ward is over half an hour a way and a nightmare to get to.. so something I'm only wanting to do as a last resort in case they call me in!
